  • I would look up some travel WODs. I use them when I'm in a hotel gym which uses at the most free weights. Just put together like 3 or 4 of them and it should work. I did one that was like 7 burpees & 7 squats 7x. Not too bad, but enough to get the heart rate up. Or you can modify the heroes/girls and replace things that…
  • I've been going between 4 and 6 days a week and if I push for that 6th my body feels absolutely wrecked. I would take advantage of the rest days and do yoga or light cardio, but nothing really challenging. Mobility from yoga and stretching is so beneficial.
  • Top Deadlift Power clean Kettle bells (anything with a kettle bell) Bottom Thrusters Rope climb Burpees
  • I am also on synthroid for hypo. I've lost around 7% body fat and am still taking the same dosage. I expect to take it the rest of my life, if I lose 20 lbs and am super thin or gain 100 lbs. It sucks taking a pill every day, but rather than being disappointed by it, just accept that you most likely will take this your…
  • I like taking pictures of myself once a week in the same spot, in the same swim suit, to show myself progress. I got a personal trainer for my wedding in a couple months and when I feel like I want to quit on long runs I send him a text and he fires off like 10 inspirational texts including "you've got this!" and "DON'T…
  • To be honest, I haven't noticed my Brooks Glycerin give me any problems during WODs. They REALLY come in handy when we do running, but I did my half marathon training and my cross training (crossfit) in them without any problems and have been wearing them lately, too. Survived Murph just fine last week in them :)
  • Congrats on starting crossfit! I've been doing it for about a year and 4 months now and have had my ups and downs with it, but it's the only thing that gets me excited to go to the gym. Burpees are always going to be one of the worst things, but I feel like there's that common bond when burpees end up on the white board…
  • I track it as calisthenics. I believe there are 2 options. I would highly recommend a heart rate monitor like the Polar chest strap one on Amazon for like $50. I logged for almost a year incorrectly before I got one and saw how much I was actually burning. I typically burn 400-600 per hour class, but used to log only the…
  • I know a lot of people don't like Lululemon because it's expensive, but when I run (just finished my first half marathon a week ago Sunday) I wear Lululemon Run Inspire Crops. They're mid shin pants that fit really close to the body and can be super light weight so it doesn't make you really hot. I have also worn a pair of…
  • I love crossfit! I've been going on and off since March 2014 and it's amazing. Just make sure that you are going to a place that really focuses on form. Also don't be afraid to take it easier than you think on those first few. I took 3 months off and then came back for an AMRAP WOD with 20 wallballs followed by box jumps…
