  • Thanks for sharing your amazing story; it's inspiring. I realize strength training is what is missing from my routine. You look fabulous and I'm sure you feel great. Best wishes for continued success.
  • Thanks for your question; it’s helped me to refocus on my goal. I’m 5’7” and I started here at 250. My goal weight is 165. I’m down 43 pound and I feel so much better, but, I have 42 more to go. However I’ve hit a plateau and stalled here at half-way and have mostly maintained for several months. At, 67 soon to turn 68,…
  • Have you checked out You Tube for exercise video's? There are ton's there, including, most of the above mentioned plus thing like dance videos, Zumba, swimming exercises, yoga for weight loss and almost any kind of activity you like. Plus they're free to sample; first view them and if you find one you like you can buy the…
  • Yes eat more, but, doing more is what worked for me . I'd hit a six week plateau and knew I needed to monitor my foods better and do more exercise. So I joined the Y and started taking classes. I went from 150 minutes to 360 minutes of exercise ; the first two weeks nothing happened, same weight. My appetite also increase…
  • Wow, I am inspired! Thanks for the encouragement and great job, well done!
  • Excellent observation and lessoned learned and it's very familiar story. Whatever we do to lose weight is what we need to do to maintain weight. Now I'm striving to eat whole foods, no processed foods, and sweets. Weekends, vacations, special occasions and football watching I may wonder from the plan and then get right…
  • Welcome to MFP, it really helps to journal your food choices and the encouragement is real. "We can do this!"
  • I weigh almost every morning, it helps me know how my body processes food. However, I record it here only once a month.
  • Hi Josie, We are already MFP friends, I'm 67 on an 80 pound weight loss journey. I've lost 30 lbs. so far and kinda stuck there with 50 more to go. Don't know if I still qualify but I'm willing to join and share. Let me know.
  • To list smoothies on MFP First list all ingredient put into the smoothie. Next save it as a meal and name it, like blueberry smoothie, green smoothie. It takes time initially but it will save in the long run, especially if you are doing a weekly or monthly challenge.
  • I'm just seeing your goals so I'm joining you now 9/11/14 and I'm aiming for 6 lbs within these next 3 weeks. I need the motivation and inspiration. Thanks to all and best wishes for your success  :flowerforyou:
  • Walking alone has it's pros and cons. I often walk alone and thank God it's been safe. I live on the desert and there are trails near my home. I sometimes use a walking stick for any critters, but I haven't needed it, thank God. The pro are you can clear you mind, meditate, observe beautiful natural surroundings and enjoy…
  • Yes, I'm on FB I'll check you out and we can inspire each other!
  • Thanks
  • Too me "Clean Eating" means no processed food. That means fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, & clean meats. No salty processed meat, like lunch meat and bacon. No foods in packages. This a real challenge and brings real awareness to how many processed foods we consume. I do it as best I can and the doctor took me off my B/P…
  • Congratulations, thank you for sharing you're story & photos. I'm inspired!
  • Hello there, I'm 66 and (God Willing) I'm determined to release these extra pounds. MFP is a great instrument for tracking food and exercise. We can do this!
  • I guess I'm the older of the replies. I'm 66 and just wanted to say; if I can do it, you can do it! We have to be re-educated about our eating habits. We just can't eat amounts like we are 30 and we still have to move the body. Start by walking, parking farther from the door when shopping & trying not to just veggs-out in…
  • First, congratulations for being here and for reaching out for support. Next, realize this is a lifestyle not a "diet" so it may take some time. It took my neighbor 2 1/2 years to lose 80 pounds. Eating smaller meals more often can help boost the metabolism and of course moving the body more is necessary. Find a weight…
  • My April goals are: 1) Release between 8 - 12 pounds, 2)Exercise 3- -4 day with increased intensity and time. 3) Eat clean whole foods with more fruit and vegetables, 4) Drink 1 gallon of water per day 5) Get adequate sleep 6) Educate myself on health and nutrition  May everyone have a great and successful month!…
