This. Perfect. ^^^ Normally a lurker, but I had to participate in this discussion. I think the idea that women are expected to 'put out' in exchange for emotional support is asinine. If you're my friend, I expect to be able to lean on you, regardless of it you're male, female, single, married or hell, even if we're just…

Work in progress, here! Can't wait til I am a bonafide hottie so I can flaunt it in the as-of-12-hours-ago-ex-boyfriends face!

Love this, thanks! (Ocarina of Time was my childhood!)

I've mostly found sweet tea to be a regional thing. I was born and raised in the south and sweet tea was a drink that was always offered. When I go up north to visit family, they look at me like I've asked for a tall glass of warm urine when I ask for sweet tea. That said, I don't like bacon. I don't 'hate' it, but the…

Ugh, I hit quote instead of edit... again... always do that! ^^

I agree and understand what the OP is saying. I'm 27, still unmarried (been with the same guy for almost 5 years though) and with no kids. Neither of us have plans to get married or have kids any time soon, cause we love our life as it is. I post on Facebook that we're getting up and going on a road trip, or that I spent…

I would TOTALLY buy one! I used to be a member of a forum that used cafepress to create t-shirts to sell! We had an open thread for suggestions and then at the end of the month we took a vote, and I think the top 5 became merchandise! There are a few catchy slogans on here that I wouldn't mind sporting at the gym! I'm no…

I personally never liked Family Guy (I don't mind offensive humor [done right], but the non-sequitur style jokes sort of lose me), but I do actually really like McFarlane as a person, from what I've seen of him in interviews. To be honest, I find the bulimia jokes on Family Guy to be less offensive than the fat jokes on…

I've never been pregnant but my observation is it seems like the society has this idea that pregnant women are public property. I get what you're saying, and I too hate when people smoke while pregnant, but by policing their every move we start a slippery slope on what we can and cannot do to pregnant women 'for the good…

Florence and the Machine - Howl This song came on the other day while I was on the elliptical and I nearly stroked out from pushing myself too hard.

Or the pirates were the only thing standing between us and global warming. Like some sort of secret society that staved off impending doom and we never even knew it until it was too late... :o I'd watch that movie.

Bump for later, thanks :)

I've used both and I greatly prefer the all-females gym. I just feel really uncomfortable working out around men. Yes, some (most) people at the gym can be supportive, but I feel like I haven't yet reached that level of self-confidence to 'not care' about the few negative snickers. I know myself and one negative comment or…

Yeah, I want to be healthy, but I also want to be hot. Smoking hot. I am tired of being told I have "such a pretty face!" or gorgeous hair or nice eyes or a wonderful personality or any number of things that mean, "you're pretty but you'd be prettier if you weren't fat." Now I want the bangin' body to go with it.

3500 calories = 1 pound. So if you cut 1000 cals a day, you will lose 7000 calories in a week, which is 2 lbs.

That, I think, is why there is so much confusion. People come to this site and say, "oh, well the other sites didn't do that" and it throws them. Instead of just reading the explanation and trusting the plan they have set up for you (which, admittedly, it can be a little daunting to just let some website dictate your daily…

I don't think it's a flaw at all and is actually one of my favorite parts of the MFP system. The flaw is the people coming from other sites and using Sparkpeople's (or what have you) process on MFP. Just because 7 other sites do it one way means nothing. MFP explicitly spells out the instructions when you create your…

^ My boyfriend eats as if he'll never be fed again. Luckily (for me, not so much for his health), he hates anything remotely healthy. So I know he won't touch my veggies, whole wheat, oatmeal, etc.

If you're gonna workout again, you'll need to fuel your body properly. If you're not hungry, have a few handfuls of almonds which are very calorie dense but still packed with nutrients. If you exercise and don't fuel your body, it'll start breaking down your muscle to feed itself.

1) What are your stats/fitness goals? 27 Female, looking to lose 100+ pounds and get fit. 2) How long have you had it? Few months, I don't remember exactly when. Maybe May? 3) What do you like/dislike about it? How has it helped? I love how it gives me my total calories burned for the day. I don't have to set an activity…
