  • It's important to hit your macros right on every day so you know if you need to adjust. I only weigh myself once a week and also measure my waist once a week. Give yourself three to four weeks taking both of these numbers into consideration when deciding whether to adjust your macros. As mentioned, nuts and nut butters,…
  • There are no set foods for IIFYM. You can eat whatever you need to and leave out whatever you need to. As long as you are hitting your macros, which you will have to figure out, and your fiber intake you will be okay. Some people think of it as eating pizza and ice cream all day but it's not. I have one small "treat" a day…
  • Here's a great video on creatine, it addresses some of the issues raised here. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QWx3qWrELzU&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DQWx3qWrELzU
  • Before you cut out whole groups of food or cut back drastically on your calories please check out IIFYM. It has been a lifesaver for me. Here's a pretty comprehensive overview. http://jodiefuturefigure.wordpress.com/2013/08/03/the-iifym-directory/ One tip I could probably give you right offhand would be to leave your food…
  • Haha! That was the first thing I noticed. lol
  • I'm in. Current weight-114 Goal weight end of may- 109
  • Your kids have already been without you all day, don't make them miss out on that time with you in the evening, too. Taking them with you on walks would be great, but to really get a good workout in you are gonna have to go in the morning. I've been waking up at 3:45 in the morning to hit the gym by 4:45 for the last three…
  • It doesn't matter when you're doing the workout, the benefit is still there. One great advantage to doing it in the morning is that it is DONE! You won't make excuses later in the day because you're tired.
  • Hooray! WTG! :)
  • I think this is the key: "It’s hard to make a blanket statement on whether or not you should drink diet soda," Brierley Wright, M.S., R.D., the nutrition editor for EatingWell Magazine, says. "At the end of the day what I think it comes down to is how are you using diet soda—is it truly a substitute for a higher calorie…
  • You've just got to use self-control and stop yourself. there's no magic bullet.
  • Congratulations!!
  • Can't help you on the calorie thing but why the heck wouldn't you eat after a strenuous workout like that?? 2 string beans and a 1/4 potato? You need protein and some carbs after a workout. Make sure the carbs are from a good source. You DID push yourself hard. Just because you couldn't keep up with people who have been…
  • Totally agree with everything posted previously. And I think you should be proud of yourself for having lost almost 10 lbs in just over 2 months! If you keep that up you will have lost 60 lbs in one year, which is nothing to feel bad about! And if you kick it up a notch you will lose even more! Keep going!
  • Can't get the link to work, darn it!
  • If you are running longer distances I would rest in between. You could do something with low impact, such as swimming, to get your cardio in. For shorter distances (3-4 miles or less) I think you'll be fine.
  • I know there are differing opinions on this subject. Some people advise eating a bedtime snack in order to keep your metabolism going. Not sure what kind of snack, but I think it's fairly specific in what kind of food you should eat at that time.
  • I like this!
  • Why are you waking up? I would talk to you doctor about options to help you sleep. I have restless leg syndrome, and have had many bouts with insomnia. I would toss and turn in bed, sometimes falling asleep but then always waking up again. To help me be able to get back to sleep I got in the habit of getting up in the…

  • Try breathing differently. Pioneer Woman just had an article written by her mother on this: http://thepioneerwoman.com/homeandgarden/2011/05/stress-reduction-101/ It won't turn your brain off, but it might help you get through it a bit easier. Also I pray. A LOT!

  • Wacoal makes great bras for larger busts. Those are what I have had the best luck with. They are rather expensive, $65ish give or take, and they don't come in cotton. But you get major support and nice shaping. Victoria's Secret doesn't have a ton of bra styles in the larger sizes.
  • Um, you sound like me every month! lol if you don't feel like eating I wouldn't force yourself. There is a lot of talk on here about starvation mode, but if it's only for a couple of days you'll be fine. Just make sure you are getting plenty of water, that will help with the bloating as well. As for the moodiness you just…
  • Okay so I ended up running out and buying this the same day. lol Turns out Alwyn (the trainer who comes up with these routines) owns a gym in my city and it's the one my chiro recommended going to see! I have a initial consult tomorrow. :)
  • This is the one I like. Very comfortable (I was getting raw and bleeding shoulders with the one I had previously.) and supportive. Plus it looks like I'm wearing a regular bra. http://www.onehanesplace.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__10151_-1_11001_16102_13596
  • Not everyone's skin is elastic. You might never have it super tight again. I know it sucks, mine is not and it does make me look bigger. :/
  • Thanks so much. Back pain is a huge issue for me. I'm going to check out the book!
