So, I met with my new personal trainer today for the first time. He gave me some good tips...and one of them that I will try is to not eat (or limit) any carbs 6 hours before you go to bed....he said your body burns way more fat while you sleep this way because it burns what you have instead of what you put in. He said it does wonders. I am going to definitely incorporate this into my diet!! I am not sure if this is a "duh" thing to think about...but it was new to me! Hopefully it will be new to some of you!

huh...maybe I'll try that b/c I have been very frustrated with a lack of results despite staying within calories or way under and exercising. But I do eat carbs late at night.

Definitely good advice, but should pretty much avoid eating several hours before bed, whether carbs or otherwise. :)

I know there are differing opinions on this subject. Some people advise eating a bedtime snack in order to keep your metabolism going. Not sure what kind of snack, but I think it's fairly specific in what kind of food you should eat at that time.

If I did this I would have to stop eating at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. And THAT'S not happenin'! Lol. Hope it works out for you!!!!

Ditto. I get the point behind it, but I can't do 6 hrs before bed.

you can eat before bed! just not carbs! like pasta or bread etc. you could get home from work and eat a chicken salad, or soup or stir fry - (with NO noodles)

Thanks for this info - i ususally eat carbs for my evening meal, but i think i will give it a try this week and see how i go.
