Just starting IIFYM

This week I made the decision to give iifym a try. I've read a lot about it and seen the amazing results. I figured this would be the best form of dieting for me because I don't have a lot of weight to lose but rather want to gain lean muscle. I used the free calculator online and the macros it gave me were about 1600cal 54 f/ 159 c/ 135 p, just for reference I set it to a weight loss setting. Here's where I need some help, I am having a really hard time hitting my fat intake a day. I just don't k is what to do to reach it! Also, I've only been doing it for about three days now but I've actually gained weight!! Is that normal? Before starting I fluctuated between 133 and 135 and so I used 135 to calculate the macros. I weighed myself this morning and weighed 136.8. This worried me that in consuming too much but I'm not sure. Or could this be because my workout routine was more intense this week?
Like I said I'm very new and confused by all if this so any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Give it a few weeks before you jump ship. More than likely you were probably undereating, and your body is finally beginning to restore itself.

As for fats, learn to start using more added fats, by fattier cuts of meat, eat more nuts (or peanut butter--my favorite fat), and upgrade all dairy or fat-free options to low fat or low fat to full fat.

Hope that helps. You have to give things time and don't worry about small fluctuations in the scale. You cannot gain fat so quickly.

Weight varies all the time. Unless you ate 3500 calories over your TDEE in that time, it's impossible to gain fat. Probably water weight. Just stick to it.

If you want to build muscle though, you'll have to eat at a calorie surplus and you will gain weight anyway. For the fat setting, you can eat nuts, full fat dairy products, olive oil... I'm often under too.

It's important to hit your macros right on every day so you know if you need to adjust. I only weigh myself once a week and also measure my waist once a week. Give yourself three to four weeks taking both of these numbers into consideration when deciding whether to adjust your macros. As mentioned, nuts and nut butters, cheese, milk, and oil will help get those numbers up. Have fun!
