Stress relief

Does anyone have any recommendations for stress relief? I find that going to the gym is good to exhaust myself physically but my brain keeps working and thinking about whatever it is that's stressing me out. Any suggestions are appreciated

No caffeine
No sugar
Eat every three hours
Exercise
(wait.....where have I heard this before?)
Be In This Moment.

Write in a journal or draw a picture. Do some thing to get what ever you are thinking about out of your head?0

I've never found ANY stress relief in exercising until I started running/jogging. Outside. Without headphones.
There's something very relaxing & refreshing about being outdoors, and even if your mind still races with stress, the endorphins, fresh air, and heart pumping all work together IMO to give you more energy & calm to tackle your sources of stress, and more clarity to approach your stress rationally, so it doesn't completely overwhelm you.0 -
SEX
Yep.....best kind there is0 -
Yoga I am prone to panic attacks and insomnia...and they have almost gone away since I started doing yoga. I also was able to get on a plane and fly without meds 2 weeks ago....and I haven't done that in 20 years!!

Do you crochet / knit at all? These are mindless for some people but not me - I have to keep counting stiches to make sure they add up correctly at the end of every row! Plus, it keeps my hands occupied so I can't use them to snack (which I tend to do when I'm stressed.)0 -
Try breathing differently. Pioneer Woman just had an article written by her mother on this:
http://thepioneerwoman.com/homeandgarden/2011/05/stress-reduction-101/
It won't turn your brain off, but it might help you get through it a bit easier. Also I pray. A LOT!0 -
Creative, positive visualization. I also use ignatia amara (homeopathic remedy) which helps immensely.0
