  • We adopted our wiener dog from the pound and named him Murdoch. His "kennel name" was Regal. I wanted to name him Rusty. He's flies around the house like a Rocket. He likes to snuggle, so my wife calls him Squishy. And our last name is Mickle. So....our dog's official moniker is Murdoch Regal Rusty Rocket Squishy Mickle
  • Aw heck, I'm down to join.
  • If early AM isn't your thing, try downloading some audiobooks and play those while you run. If you find one with a really good story that you can drift into, you'll find that the time really flies. I've done extra laps just because I wasn't ready to stop listening.
  • Dang it! I really wanted to participate in this challenge, but I just have NOT had the time to get online. In fact, my Xbox has been powered down for at least two weeks now. Not even my kids have played it. Sigh.... How long was the challenge? Maybe I still have time?
  • I've had a Fitbit for almost 3 years now, and I just started using it again. In fact, I ordered the new Fitbit Ultra on Amazon. I've been using it 24 hours a day now for about a week, and plan to continue to do so. The breakdown it gives you can be enlightening. The other thing I purchased is a Polar BlueTooth heartrate…
  • Uh-oh... I was at work all day yesterday. I'll log in ASAP today and accept the requests if it's not already too late.

  • Game on! Guess I'd better find some time today to log into XBL and YS:FE and start bustin' butt.
  • That's a great analogy. I've had days like that before, but even when I do blow it, I try to still keep my calories in the maintain-your-weight range. That way I can still feel good about not putting any more pounds back on. The biggest thing to remember is that tomorrow is a new day...every tomorrow is. As long as you can…
  • Good luck to you, too, DC. I enjoy the cardio boxing routine. I think you'll like it!
  • The 27th sounds good. You'll all have me at a disadvantage, though. I work a 24 hour shift, so I can only get on every other day. I'll try my hardest to beat you all, though.

  • Yeah, I've had the same problem. Sometimes I just can't get the thing to recognize my position....

  • I'm with you all the way! I love the punching games. It would be great to have more games like that. Same with the stretching.
  • Pinky, I've got both the 2010 version and the 2012. They're both great games, just a few new features added to the 2012. Keep at it and you'll shake that extra 15k in no time!
  • Yes indeed! Bootcamp really works ya!

  • Thanks for the tip! I love breaking blocks. It really gives you some satisfaction.

  • I'm going to have to go with a traditional cheeseburger with grilled cheese sandwiches as the top and bottom buns. MMMmmmmmm......
  • Woo-hoo! Another member right off the bat. I feel less like I'm playing a game with it and that it's more akin to an "interactive" workout video. And people do "non-interactive" workout videos all the time. I'm going to try to stick with it this go-round and make it part of my routine. Hopefully we'll get a bunch of new…

  • <--- Blob, but working to fix that.
  • I've been trying off and on for years now. Getting back on the bandwagon and I hope this is the time I lose it all for good. Add me and we can help keep each other motivated.
  • Welcome CCF, The others are right on with their advice. Not to discourage you, but 100lbs in six months is a lofty goal. One of the quickest routes to failure is setting a hard-to-reach goal. The experts recommend a maximum weight loss rate of 2lbs/week. That's a rate that can be lost with moderate diet and exercise. Of…
  • Hi Ash, Welcome to MFP. I think you'll find all the support you need right here. One thing to keep in mind that has helped me is that slow and steady really does win the race. In my past efforts, I wanted to lose too much, too fast, and I always quit discouraged. It wasn't until I finally realized the truth--that it was…
  • Just start off slow and steady, and eventually you'll get to that place. =D
  • I'm with Atlantique on this. Also, here's an excerpt from Rachael Ray's Express Lane Meals that lists what she thinks you should have in your spice rack at all times: coarse salt coarse black pepper or peppercorns to grind chili powder ground cumin grill seasoning paprika smoked sweet paprika whole nutmeg curry paste or…
  • I think olive oil would work, just not extra virgin--the flavor would be wrong. OP--I've used applesauce as a substitute in oatmeal-raisin cookies before, and they came out pretty good. Might work okay for chocolate chip.
  • Hmmm. As I understand it, whole wheat is one particular type of whole grain. The "whole" simply means that the food contains all parts of the grain (in this case, wheat), thereby providing you with more nutrition in a smaller dose. As long as the label says "Whole" on it, whether it be whole wheat or whole grain, you…
  • That does sound good. Never would have thought of Tajin on a margarita glass. Love it on watermelon.
