Whole wheat / whole grains... how to choose?

Hey.. I've recently had to change my diet because of sever acid reflux problems. I decided that once I'm doing that, I might as well eat healthy to lose some weight!
One of the things that is on my restrictions list, is white bread... So I've switched to whole wheat. I bought some wraps recently and realised that one wrap contains 180 calories... I looked at the nutritional contents of the whole grain (cause I heard these were even better) and realised that one slice is 140 (same as the whole wheat)...
Why does the whole grain seem like more (cause a slice at 140 is smaller than a wrap at 180)? How do I know which is better for me?

From my research, whole wheat is still processed so there are some nutrional values that are removed. Whole grains has entire grains in there so all the nutrional values are still there.

Hmmm. As I understand it, whole wheat is one particular type of whole grain. The "whole" simply means that the food contains all parts of the grain (in this case, wheat), thereby providing you with more nutrition in a smaller dose. As long as the label says "Whole" on it, whether it be whole wheat or whole grain, you should be good to go. The calorie differences you notice is probably due to other differences in the recipe/manufacturing process.
