Is it weird to go to these beach resorts by yourself? Everyone else there will be with someone else.

Walking, definitely walking. I do a lot of long walks. I also like kayaking, fishing, reading and drinking too much.

Yep, I've only just started logging and weighing myself again after a long time off (and 20kg gained, I guess I'm in this for life). I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it the next couple months.

Logged it on the fly with some near enough (?) database items. Ignored the salad which was more of a garnish really :-). Oil because the bread was toasted on a hot plate with oil.

Haha, yeah, until I stopped to walk.

Yep, these events are all yearly. Gives me something to work towards, if the budget allows travel and time off work for the out of town ones anyway. This next one in June isn't far away and the local cycle club is taking a van up on the morning of the event. It's starting to cool down. Last nights low was 8C (46F) and…

So. 40 of 49 in my group for my first event. Not great but it gives me something to beat next time out.

Top 50% for my age group (40-44) would be nice. My first, and only event to date, was a 150 at the end of February and I was bottom 25%. The 110 coming up, apparently, is hard to set a goal time for because it's all in one direction (south) so the wind direction on the day makes a huge difference to how hard it is. And…

Well, I slept in. So I headed out about an 45 minutes after the rest along the route they would have come back by intending to turn around when I met up with them. I ended up; turning back not long after passing a couple of guys who did a shorter ride. Ended up doing an easy 43km solo and having a coffee with a couple of…

I should be sleeping. Early start tomorrow.

I've got a 110km event June 15 and a 160km November 30.

4.5 hours on the bike. 111km. 1,500m elevation gain.

Thanks. I'll go and ask next time I'm in town.

I'd spend the time pumping some serious iron and building some arms and shoulders, but I'm a little concerned about the possible aerodynamic detriment should I happen to get too swole. ;)

Thanks @aokoye Goal wise it's going to be cycling, long walks with the dog, and a little jogging now and again. Post surgery ACC (our government funded Accident Compensation Corporation) will pay for a certain number of sessions with a physiotherapist, but their focus will on general recovery, mobility and getting back to…

Yesterdays ride was a three hour group ride with a couple of decent hills. My mid week short rides are a mixture of hill repeats, intervals and pace riding. My legs were feeling pretty heavy last night but not too bad this morning so I guess the dog gets her walkies.

If that's only cat3 I need to find me a cat1 to test myself on. (Or break myself on, more likely).

You'll like this one #Machka9, part of today's 80km ride. I get 7.6 on your scale.

If you sleep at work this can be your recovery time and you will be able to exercise at night.
