Ideas for a solo holiday needed.
What are some ideas for a solo male needing holiday. Recently widowed and not looking for anything, just need to get away. Rarotonga sounds good right now but will it actually be any good by myself?

Garmin Connect calorie adjustment. Stress = exercise?
I've just started using this feature and I've done very little exercise the last two days but have had some times of elevated heart rate because of stress or excitement. I think this thing might be awarding me calories when I'm sitting on my butt.

Guesstimate my lunch (pic).
Sirloin steak sandwich on ciabatta (there's another piece under the meat) with hollandaise sauce.

Silverback brand bikes...?
Anyone got one, had experience with them, know anything about them... Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm eyeing up this one https://www.evolutioncycles.co.nz/Product/284338/silverback-siablo-105

I used to have the body of a professional athlete. Not now though,
it was taking up too much room in the freezer.

Oops. No wonder I had to stop and walk a wee bit.

Cycling: I made a mistake today...
The club I ride with has two start times, the slower guys start half an hour before the faster group. With the change of seasons the start times are changing so the early group doesn't start in the dark. I thought this week that was happening. It didn't. So I missed the slower group that I normally ride with and went out…

I wonder if I should bail on tomorrows ride...
The club I ride with on Sundays had a short ride scheduled for tomorrow so I went out and did 110km this morning (which is fairly long for me) but now I've just looked at the schedule on the clubs FB page and they've changed the ride to a 80km (which is normally easy for me after a day off). Not sure how I'll hold up with…

Leg warmers. Under or over shorts legs?
... and socks? Today I went for under the shorts and over the socks.

Kayaking in a wetsuit. Chaffing...
...especially in the underarm area where a lot of the movement is happening. Is petroleum jelly the answer perhaps?

One legged pedaling.
What if, when I'm on crutches for three months after surgery, I take the left pedal off my bike, clip in with my right foot and do my five rides a week on the indoor trainer pedaling with only my right leg? At least my right leg won't atrophy and I'll keep my cardio up to scratch. I'll just be doing wheelies when I finally…

Cycling, walking and rest days.
I ride five days a week, four short training rides Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and one long ride on Sunday. Monday (today) is supposed to be a rest day. Is it okay to take the dog on a longish (10-12km) hilly walk on my rest days, or am I buggering up my recovery time for my cycling muscles?
-
"The ride is generally flat..."
Well, alrighty then. Guess I'll just go ahead and die...

I must have been having a very good day indeed.
I wonder how I pulled this one out of the hat way back then when I was greener than green (I'm still pretty green). I've only recently beaten it.

Intervals: beginning, middle or end of a training ride or run?
Some of my training days say, "Ride for 60 minutes including 20 minutes of 30/30" or some other interval session that doesn't last the whole duration of the ride. Would you, or do you, do your intervals or hill repeats near the beginning, middle or end of your ride or run?

Answer a question, ask a question. Any question at all.
Answer me this then ask a question for the next person to answer, then they ask.............. "Burning Down The House": Talking Heads or Tom Jones, which is the better version?

Hello.
I don't know how to delete a post so I edited it to say this instead. Have a nice day.

Maybe it's time to face the fact...
...that I don't just like beer but I'm probably an alcoholic. Time to stop.

3 months on crutches. All my work down the drain?
I started cycling 6ish months ago and have gained a bit of the shizzle that goes with that, however I am going to have some surgery on my left foot to correct some damage from an asccident many years ago. They tell me I will be on crutches for 3 MONTHS. How do I keep up my fitness and not lose my leg strength for 3 MONTHS.…

One hit wonder
As an artist or band member would it be better to not hit at all than to have a one hit wonder? Imagine the expectations you would have for the future when you hit the top with that track. And then nothing. Or would you just be grateful for the success that you did have? Favourite one hit wonder?

Hot or cold?
Woke up this morning with a pain in the neck (and I don't mean the missus). When I turn my head to the right it tightens up and hurts, a sharp pain. I'm going out for a long ride tomorrow and I need to be able to look over my right shoulder at intersections (we drive/ride on the left here in NZ). What's by best shot at…

How do I improve my short distance sprints? (Cycling)
This Strava segment is a 310 meter sprint on a slight decline. My speed isn't getting any faster. Is it just a matter of doing more sprinting on my training rides? Or should I go learn how to use the squat rack? This segment is on the way back into town so I almost only ever do it at the end of a long ride. Should I just…

Training for a 150km cycle event.
I'm considering signing up for a 150km cycle challenge. The event takes place January 26, about 6 months from now. I've been doing a bit of riding the last few months, mainly for exercise and calorie burn at first but now I've reached my target weight I need a new goal to focus on and I do enjoy cycling (except uphill with…

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Did Neeson's character actually throw the cripple in the river? What a depressing story.

Descending. How do you make your balls bigger?
I still have major fear issues going down hill. Frustration i setting in. I don't know what to do.

A member of our cycling group was hit by a car today.
She was at the back of the group and was going to turn back early. She signaled right at the intersection where she was going to turn back (we drive / ride on the left here in NZ) and turned. The car coming up behind us, instead of slowing to let her turn, pulled out to overtake us. She had nearly made it across the road…

Do cyclocross riders use flats or cleats?
How can you run on cleats?

Getting dropped badly when descending.
I've fairly recently taken up cycling and have more recently started riding with a club on Sunday mornings. They have a slow group that starts at 7am and a faster group that start half an hour later. I've been going out with the slow group (all WAY older than me, and I'm 40). I'm able to keep up for most of the ride,…

Getting faster?
Over the same period of time two different segments tell two different stories.
