One hit wonder

As an artist or band member would it be better to not hit at all than to have a one hit wonder? Imagine the expectations you would have for the future when you hit the top with that track. And then nothing. Or would you just be grateful for the success that you did have?

    I would be grateful for the success I did have.

    I’d say my favourite one hit is - Nothing Compares 2 U originally by Prince but covered by Sinead O’Connor. I know she went on to have a little more success in Europe but not here.
