I really like all of these thoughts so far! I'm also a big fan of Netflix while I walk. Usually I do TV shows, and a lot of them end on cliffhangers, so I WANT to watch that next episode. And the only way I will watch certain things is if I'm treadmilling while doing it. I'm always really pressed for time, and so I lie to…

I agree with all the things I read from other posts, so in addition to what was already said, you could also try making your own trail mixes, combining the things you already like: unbuttered popcorn, chocolate chips, nuts, sunflower seeds. etc. Portion it out into little baggies that you know are within your calorie limit…

I know everyone just wants to kinda jump out and say, ignore them! But I dunno, I guess I'm the opposite, I want to hear what EVERYONE has to say. I'll store it all in my brain, maybe research it later, see if there's sound advice in it. Keep the parts that appeal to me, store away the ones that I'm not quite ready for,…

I think typically, yes I do lose weight when I'm sick. Again because for the first couple days, if I'm willing to eat, all I will consume is like soup or liquid. But after a few days my body is jones-ing for some meat, like hardcore. So yeah, I think usually I'll eat whatever makes me happy at that point of the sick. And…

I think also, try to identify when you're feeling hungry/cravey. Is it just out of habit, or are you actually hungry? If it's habit, break it by making a new habit, if you're hungry an hour after lunch, go for a little walk with a bottle of water. If you're hungry, my go to snacks are: yogurt with flax seed (love it! gives…

Make sure you measure yourself. A 4 pound gain for me also yielded an inch loss in the waist, and 1.5 inches in the hips. You have to keep in mind how the body reacts to changes. It will take about a month for your system to adapt to whatever new things you introduce.

I was at a doctor's office, just a routine check-up, and she talked to me about my weight. She was the first person in my entire life to actually bring it up. And she showed me the BMI chart, showing I'm morbidly obese. And she said that if I were to gain a few more pounds, she would probably recommend getting a gastric…

Had the doctor tell me I was "close enough" to 5 foot tall. Love when doctors round up. XD

I thought Jillian Michael's Body Revolution was a good one. She shows you how to make it more challenging, and if you're not so fit, like me, you might just sit out a rep or two. And it's just a half hour, you don't need anything fancy, some hand weights, and an extra resistance band so you can workout together, and you're…

I'm a big fan of going to the Slacker radio app, and listening to the Pop Workout station.

Hi- I just joined MFP today, I'd love to join a group, and have challenges, share my ideas, and get new useful ones. I've got around 70 pounds to lose. I'm a little health crazy lately, so sharing and gathering with a group of like-minded people sounds awesome! ShortStrut

Hi- I'm not a success story yet... but I plan to be. I'm 27, 5'0" and 190lbs, ish... I still need to weigh in today and see what's what. I was diagnosed with PCOS a year... maybe 2 ago. And I knew I was overweight, but when the doctor told me I was morbidly obese, and might want to consider gastric by-pass, that's when I…
