  • I am in my second run at losing weight. I successfully lost 40 pounds about 2 1/2 years ago. Then I started an insane job that caused me to gain about 25 of those back. I recently started a new job and have gotten rid of that negativity. I'm now back at losing weight and am down about 8 pounds. Add me as a friend if you…
  • I also find that eventually, my husband starts to see the changes I'm making and makes some of his own. I'm not saying it's huge, but he has recently started walking in the evenings. At restaurants, I find they are usually willing to sub fries for a vegetable. You just need to ask. That's a trick that makes it a little…
  • I am mom to two girls, ages 5 & 8. My routine is usually: Wake up at 6 to go to the gym. My husband takes care of morning routines with the girls, so they are usually dressed and eating breakfast when I get home. I get ready and head to work. I am lucky to have a grocery store with a fabulous salad bar that I walk to a…
  • I am motivated by: 1. My kids and keeping up with them, 2. Avoiding Type 2 diabetes (it runs in my family & I had gestational diabetes, so I'm at really high risk) 3. Being the best person that God made me to be.

  • I agree that you should eat what tastes good to you. However, if you have it in you, keep trying. I was a JIF addict for years, then made myself eat natural for awhile. I recently had some JIF and it is way too sweet for me now. Your taste buds will change and come to like the natural better, if you give it time.
  • Hi all. I am Jessica and have recently returned to MFP. I picked up the Daniel Plan at Costco last month and have really felt motivated to get back in shape. I lost about 40 pounds last year, then ended up with Plantar Faciitis and stopped running. I gained about 20 pounds back, but am now healed and ready to try again.
  • I have been working hard to have protein at snack time. My favorite right now is roasted garbanzo beans. I also like rice cakes with PB on them. I found Lundberg Brown rice cakes are really good. How do you make popped quinoa?
  • Yep. I always fail miserably when my kids are sick. I say: do your best, don't beat yourself up (as a lot of it is out of your control) and get back on track when all are well.
  • There is nothing more frustrating than having it out of your control. Every time I'm on track, one of my girls gets sick, which means I am up at all hours of the night. No sleep = no exercise. Then, I stress eat.
