In my view a gimmick and for most people they're unnecessary. Although if I worked 14 hour days 10 days on like the poster above I'd probably take 2! Lol.

Personally, I find that nothing makes me recover quicker than exercise. In fact, when I feel any of the symptoms of a cold/flu beginning to manifest I make sure I do a big, strenuous workout that day and this seems to stop it in its tracks. In terms of nutrition to answer your question, I stick to my usual calorie deficit.

12 inch isn't massive lol... its fine, just skip the scale this week.

I'm jealous. I never get enough sleep, and never have the time to do so. 7 hours is a good night for me, usual is 6 :( How old are you? I used to sleep 12+ hours as a teenager, teenagers need more sleep

Was disappointed when I read this, as I thought you meant the movie (excellent film). BUT not wondering what the series is, may have to look into it!

Haha you'll be popular now when everyone's portion size gets cut because you notifed head office of this!

Definitely try the meaty fishes, tuna swordfish and marlin. Tuna steak can even be eaten as a burger

I found that eating back even a portion of my exercise calories meant that I didn't actually 'lose' any weight and I ended up losing and regaining the same 2lbs for a couple of months - very frustrating. Now I have set my calorie goal myself based on TDEE-20% and I don't log actual exercise, only food, and I'm now losing…

Its actually not that difficult, just have a good protein source with each meal. Eggs, peanut butter, greek yoghurt, tuna (if you eat fish), beans etc.
-
Unhelpful post. Everyone knows some muscle loss is unavoidable, but protein also has a high thermic effect (approximately 30%). 1g per lb of bodyweight for me and it works well.

I reckon 7-8% mate, nice job on the cut. Lol @ thread title, I thought it meant 'estimate my boyfriend' at first.

'Cheat day' is dangerous. Think of your deficit in terms of a weekly number not daily and then you'll see that you can easily undo all of your progress in a 'cheat day'. I have a cheat meal on Saturdays, either a nice meal out or a takeaway with a few beers. Although, usually I can keep this either within my allowance or…

I'm going to say none. Golf isn't very taxing to begin with and rding in a cart negates any exercise benefit for me. I personally wouldn't log it, just enjoy it.

I do this for want of a better title for it... Plus, it kind of makes sense (I haven't drank full fat for 10+ years easily)

No problem  OP if you click on it you'll see its just a quick reference guide to the level of protein found in common foods together with serving sizes. Its really useful.

 This. Also those 'Sweatz vests' which are basically bin liners you wear whilst exercising to make you sweat more.

SL 5x5 starts with just the bar to ensure correct form is learnt before the weight is increased. Very few people will be too sore at the outset from this to just quit.
-
SL is a beginner program as others have said. Your friend is misinformed but don't worry, the trainer at the gym I joined 3 weeks ago said the same thing to me ("its an advanced program, I'll design you something better"). This was after I'd shown him my notebook with the exercises because he'd never even heard of it…

Definitely this. People are entitled to voice their opinion in my view, its not intended to hurt anyone.

You're probably asking this question on the wrong forum in fairness, people on here want to count calories, lose weight steadily and enjoy every type of food (including carbs) whilst doing so. There are other forums (including boxing specific ones) where you will get an answer to your question from people that have…

I'm puzzled as to why people are saying 'I'm the same person I've always been why now' etc. The fact is...you're not. As we've already established, you're more confident, outgoing, you have new hobbies and interests (health, fitness, caring about good food and what goes into it). Why shouldn't people notice those changes…
