Despite it being sometimes clunky and frustrating, I like the BodySpace app from my.bodybuilding.com best. At least it is LESS clunky and frustrating than Jefit.

Give it a try, especially if you've got a pack on with more than 10 lbs in it. You might be surprised!

I've discovered for best results (at least with my garmin strap) that the transmitter needs to sit right at the base of your sternum. Basically the upper portion of the transmitter over the bone and the lower part over the void just under it. It just needs a few drops of water on the contact areas.

I had originally meant to update this with my totals every day... but I ride almost every day, and it's a chore. As of my commute to work via bike this morning I am at the following totals: 15 hours 3 minutes in the saddle 201.87 miles ridden 11994 calories burned You can see each individual rides details here (spreadsheet…

Same problem here. NONE of the MapMy____ apps sync with MFP. I tried Endomondo in it's place... it wont sync anymore either. Something wrong on MFP's side.

I've noticed there are two kinds of people at the gyms I've been too: 1. People focused on their work outs. 2. People focused on strutting around like male peacocks showing off their feathers. 1. doesn't care what anyone else looks like 2. only bothers with other peacocks Get in the gym and don't worry about being judged,…

Bought a bike on February 12th. So far I've put 89.3 miles on it. On and off road. Got a 15 mile ride lined up for tonight.

Here, take a look at this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqAKNayRetI Explains what causes them, and how to prevent/care for them.

One thing everyone should take into consideration with these apps is that they can only be as good as the GPS chip in your phone, to begin with. Placement inside the phone can hinder its reception. Placement on your body or in your pocket, bag or backpack, etc will hinder its reception further. Tall buildings nearby, being…

Fast food doesn't hold a monopoly on high calorie, unhealthy foods anyway. Most any restaurant is going to have similar offerings in that regard, and people can and will make their own junk food.

What happened to individual responsibility and self control?

I'm buying a Mountain Bike this month. I have not been on a bike in 15 years really... Very much looking forward to it! Once I have it I'll post my goal for the remainder of the month.

Two things helped me get through the first couple weeks of C25K: 1. Slow down. Now slow down some more. Am I slow enough? Yes! OK, slow down even more. 2. Push through the burning lung bit at the beginning of the run. I think I am going to die for the first 30-60 seconds but then I find my stride and it gets easier to get…

I bought the flex. No one has ever asked what it is (2 months of having it) Also, it still works if on your ankle, or in your pocket. So you have a couple choices if you need to hide it.

I prefer fixed blades. Less chance of failure, IMO. Currently loving my Slick Trick 'Grizz Trick 2s'. 100 grains

Did Week 3 day 2 yesterday. Awesome stuff, really enjoying it.

Re: the downside/useless bit. That is not entirely the case. It is true it'll only automatically collect step based movements and log them, but you can log into your dashboard and log any exercise to it. I've found that you'll pretty much want to log all your exercise in either MFP or Fitbit Dashboard but not both. If you…

In Tucson, IF we have sidewalk available that's a big if... there's not a whole lot of it except for on major roadways, and even then it's a crapshoot -- if they are available they are usually being parked on or are so broken up they'd be dangerous to run on. I'll stick to the bike lanes. The crazy cyclists in this city…

I started C25K last week and my 'run' is barely faster than my fastest walking at this point. Taking it slow is key. Whenever I feel like I can't keep going I realize it's because I had sped up. Force myself to slow down and I can then push through the interval. The pains will be there and I've pushed a day of training to…

I started my weight loss back at the beginning of December @ 260lbs I did a LOT of walking all through December and into January. I started running last week, at 235lbs or so (I didn't really relate my running start to my weight, I went when I felt my really screwed up ankles could handle it) I am using the ZenLabs…

I have the fitbit flex and absolutely love it. It provides me the bulk of my motivation. With out it, I wouldn't have discovered this site when I did and probably would be not as far along as I am now in my weight loss. I was torn between the Flex and the Force and here is how I made my decision: - the extra $30 for the…

I just started last week. Today is week 2 day 2 for me.

I don't really get a lot of scam calls but I do get a lot of technology vendors cold calling me, trying to sell me stuff for my company. The worst are the ink and toner sales people. One of my favorite things to do with them, if I've got enough time to sit through their pitch, is to string them along and sound interested.…

All I know is running in -40 is insane. I'd suggest a coat too.
