Indeed, and for me that means doing some shopping & meal prep before the weekend so I don't sabotage gains I've made during the week.

7 days AF and counting! Weekend was challenging, but so happy that I didn't give in!

Coming up on 53! Age only a number!

Hope everyone has a great and AF weekend!

I've been wondering about this too. I finally got a ketone / glucos meter to make sure that I'm in ketosis and I am. I'm sure its different for everyone but when I workout seems like I am starving even if i eat back like 90% of my calories. I'm still dropping weight but I'm hoping the hunger goes away!

@Kenni94 Ditto for me. I work out, watch what I eat during the week only to destroy any gains over the weekend. Then that piles up.. Similar challenge with friends all pretty much heavy drinkers (by my standards). I've tried, but really didn't have any support to really succeed. Hoping that this works for me, I am just…

Thanks Paul, great articles!

Any suggestions for best means to monitor/check ketosis? How accurate are the strips, or best to just get the blood monitor?
-
Day 1 for me. I've lost weight and gained some back and a contributing factor has been drinking.

Squats, Leg Curls, Deadlifts, Abs + 20 min on stationary cycle

Same here, fell off the wagon more than once and true diet's don't work (agree with Joe) has to be a lifestyle. I did good for almost 5 years, lost 80+ was so close to where I wanted to be then had one injury after another (tore both rotator cuffs, torn meniscus, ruptured bicep.. back injured) and gained 25 back.. I'm…

Hi Paul, Thanks for the info. Yes, one of the things I've invested in was a good scale to weigh my food but I think that I need to get the blood meter as I've not been testing to see if I'm in ketosis. Likewise I'm not sure that I'm getting enough electrolytes.. I actually have been keeping my carb's to less than 5% ( 20g…

Thanks. The BMR I referenced was from the xls, just coincidentally happen to be the figure on MFP.. I am going to use the xls and target 15% deficit as I need to lose 30-35lbs.
-
Just downloaded the xls and I think this has answered some questions for me. I've been logging my food and my exercise but been targeting my BMR and not my TDEE - deficit.. (Hopefully I'm getting this right..) So I hit my target macro's and what my caloric count has been not counting exercise. So like today, states BMR…

Inspiring Paul, Great Job! I started Keto a few weeks back and lost weight the first 2 weeks then went into a stall. I was about to try IF then saw your post. I'm still unclear on a few things especially on my macros.. Do you still hit your macro's when you're IF? I used a Keto Calculator to figure out macros but starting…

Yeah, I need the motivation!

So far it's working for me.. Time will tell, but as other stated you still have be mindful (track) your micro's.
-
Over 50, got plenty to lose too.. Count me in, happy to make new friends
-
Ditto, add me too. Want to lose 35
-
You can add me too, I've been here for a while never really posted. Lost 80+ lbs, but been gaining over the last 8 months and want to get back on track.

Your doing great! The food logging is vital to your success, it keeps you accountable and educated on what what's working for you. As you go forward it will also help drive changes you will need to make. Like Cypherq said, no matter what stick with it! It's a lifestyle change.
