A nutritionist came on our radio show and said "You can eat what ever you want, as long as YOU make it" What she meant was when you make ALL of your own food you are less likely to indulge in unhealthy foods for a variety of reasons. A piece of cake for example; You have physically made it so you know exactly how much…

I live in Germany and it would probably be a sin NOT to eat the chocolate here! I do try to keep the amount in check though, hard as that is ;)

It IS a challenge to enjoy extended time abroad and not gain weight due to all the local cuisine! I just let it go when I first moved to Germany and drank all the amazing beer I wanted and had carbtastic loaded meals every time we went out. After putting on quite a bit of the weight I worked so hard to loose, I figured it…

I like taking REALLY small bites of ice cream. Because of that I'd rather use the sample spoon instead of the full size.

I was doing a program that had two different types of weighted calf raises on every leg day. I was super worried that my 20" calves would only get bigger, but I figured there was only one way to find out and I did them as the program instructed. I'm happy to say I lost an entire inch on my calves! Still too big for most…

Do Jamie Eason's LiveFit program. It's free on bodybuilding.com and you just print out that day's lifting plan and bring it with you to the gym.
-
I really liked Jamie Eason's LiveFit program from bodybuilding.com. It was the low, low price of FREE! I did it with a friend who was dedicated to the gym and much more fit than I, since I had a major lapse in my gym attendance/ fitness in general. It was 12 weeks long and fantastic! Despite our different fitness levels it…

Not a big soda drinker but I do enjoy a Coke every now and then. I love almost all beer, but I really enjoy a black velvet. And Gluhwein at the holidays :)

You're right, and they explained this... I just find it so motivating to see on the MFP charts the calories I've burned through working out. I did log them, but I did't consume what I "earned"
-
The opposite in fact. Gaining weight is SO easy if I stop working out. it's the losing that's so difficult. I tried eating more calorie dense foods, but then my fat intake goes through the roof. But you're right; maybe I should give it another go before throwing in the towel. I do have a lot to lose, and I work out 5-6…

I hiked in the Alps! With a massive back pack filled with camping gear! Something I would not have physically been able to do before I decided to live healthier.

I LOVE GINGERS! That's why I married one and hope to make little ginger babies one day... soulless or not ;)
-
Wow! I'm late with my thanks here, but better late than never! THANKS for all your suggestions! I might go shorter some day, but right now I LOVE my hair cut... and it's a good thing my husband cares about what makes me happy and not the length of my hair or he'd never have been my husband otherwise! ;)

I'm also 5'11" and my goal is 195. When I get there I'll see how I feel and go from there. But I've always felt that what the BMI chart suggests is unattainable for me; I'm a damn AMAZON! My hands and feet are huge, my legs are long, and my calves are like rocks! But I love being tall, wouldn't trade it for anything!
-
Who ever put up about the my body gallery site... That thing is awesome! And what a wonderful and empowering idea!
-
I'm 5'11" and right now I'm at 260lbs. Still in my 18s (US) even though they fit me 35 lbs less, 5 months ago. I have no idea what size I want to be; when I weighed 290 I was in a size 20, I lost 75lbs and was in a size 18. I couldn't believe that after losing that much, I had only gone down 1 pant size. BUT that was also…

Thanks! That roadrunner site is pretty handy!
-
The hubs just got a pair of those last week. He's a runner though. Are they good for cross-training?
-
I did that with my last pair when I lived in the states, but now we are in Germany and it is just more cost effective to order online. Plus my German is shotty at best. I can mostly order food...and beer.

That's exactly why I'm afraid to try a new brand. My ASICS were good to me, but I'm very interested in Ryka since they are designed exclusively for women.
-
Oh, and I would love something offensively bright and colorful.
-
Oh, and creamy is the way to go. It's called peanut BUTTER. not a jar of peanuts ;)
-
What about that PB2 stuff? I saw it at the store the other day. It's a powdered peanut butter lower in fat, but it kinda freeked me out, anybody try it? I thought it might be good for adding to shakes?
-
You look great! When I hit a plateau that lasted for months I went to my doctor and at her advice I changed to a low carb diet. I REALLY didn't want to do it, it went against everything I had learned about nutrition. But she convinced me to try it just untill I broke through the plateau then I could add carbs back in. As…

Two diffrent names for the same thing. The points system that WW does is just one way of counting calories. I think the idea of turning nuturition into an easy to follow point system is great for people who may be confused or overwhelmed by changing the way they eat. It would be better if they then taught you how to apply…

BEANS. I can stomach them with something, like chilli but only if the bean to meat ratio is greatly in favor of the meat. Yet I will nom on some hummus like there is no tomorrow.

Right now we live in Germany on an Army base and I use the gym on post. I don't do supplements but my husband does and that is about $40 a month. When we decided to get healthy though and join a gym we had to make some sacrifices in order to afford a membership. We got rid of cable and joined a gym for about $60 a month…

ohhhh! Yummy! Thanks!
