Ladies rocking short hair
For all the ladies like my self who rock some short hair... what are your "keep it out of your face" solutions at the gym? I have an asymmetrical stacked bob which I usually twist back and clip or bobby-pin near my ears. This keeps it off my face (mostly, flyways still pop out when I wipe my brow) but the hair at the nape…

Nutritionists take on this?
Any nutritionists out there wanna weigh in on this? I went to a wellness center (on the army post I live on) and had a metabolic work up done. They hooked me up to a fancy machine that measured my body fat percentage with electrodes or something like that and had me breathe into a Bane-looking mask for 20 min or so. They…

Shoe Recommendations Please?
Ok friends, I need your recommendations. My ASICS bit the dust and I'm in the market for new gym shoes. I need a cross-trainer, not a running shoe since I don't primarily run, plus I need good support for lateral movement since I tend to roll my ankles. I'm afraid to try a different brand since my ASICS did me so good.

Morning Coffee
I LOVE my morning coffee! I used to dring 3-5 cups each morning.I've cut back to one, occasionally two cups. But what I can't shake is the way I like it; sweet and super creamy. I use fat free creamer which I know is laden with chemicals. I switched to the naturaly flavored real creamres, but I moved to Germany and those…

Looking for friends? Me too!
I'm not new to MFP. I've been using it for almost three years. I reached about my halfway point and was so happy. I felt great, I comuted by bike and ate great for long enough that it became second nature. I got a second job to occupy my mind and time while my husband went off to boot camp last year. It was so easy to…

BAI vs. BMI
I've always felt that the BMI scale is inaccurate, and many doctors and fitness experts agree. I was so interested when I came across a blurb in a fitness magazine about this new BAI which uses a mathematical equation using your hip to heighth ratio to measure your body fat. Studies are still being conducted to ensure it's…

NSV!
I seem to be missing a back fat roll... If you see it, tell it I threw it's crap in the garbage and don't bother coming back. We're through! WOOT WOOT!

That feeling...
So I'm not a super, gung-ho road cyclist, but I ride a bike to work and to the gym each day. Awhile ago I read an article about how competitive cyclists isolate their muscles and use just their legs to pedal uphill while keeping their core engaged to keep their upper body as still and balanced as possible. I thought "Oh…

Low Carb Woes
After a year and a half of healthy eating and exercise, the scale was stuck. At my doctors suggestion I've lowered my carbohydrate intake to 60 grams a day, but I have yet to come close to meeting my calorie goal AND stay at or under my carb goal! It's frustrating because I was eating so balanced before and I was so wary…

Now employed
So I have been unemployed for almost three months which has made working out... well not exactly easy, but I haven't had a problem finding the TIME to exercise. FINALLY, after much searching and interviewing, I have a job offer! HURRAY! While I am excited to have a job, I am a little nervous about keeping up my…

Looking in the mirror
I was reading an article in SHAPE magazine yesterday about women who love their bodies. They all described something they loved about their bodies and what that part enabled them to do. Everything from hands to scars to breasts used to nourish a baby. They were all women of varying sizes on a continuing journey of health.…
