  • I need to get more involved in the group. I know it is important to have a community. Since my last post two weeks ago things are still going good and as of last Friday I am down another 5 lbs to 426. Chugging along to that 399 first milestone, 26 lbs to go.
  • Weigh in day for me. I'm down 6 lbs this week and made my first goal of 10% lost. I break my journey down in 10% chunks and set a goal of losing 2 lbs a week. So first goal went pretty quick as I always get large numbers the first few weeks.
  • You are not alone. All though I eat it every once in awhile I could totally live without it.
  • So @NovusDies your song and the group song here could be the song by Chumbawamba called Tubthumping. I get knocked down, but I get up again You are never gonna keep me down I get knocked down, but I get up again You are never gonna keep me down I get knocked down, but I get up again You are never gonna keep me down I get…
  • My parents did try when I was young but nothing works until you set your mind to it.
  • Yes I agree with you and I do need to learn how to focus more on the mental aspect of it. Because I tend to go up and down. I have been to goal once in my adult life(53) and have been under 300 3 times in my adult life. I have also been above 400 4 times.
  • I agree @NovusDies. Do what is right for you as long as it is not harmful. @speyerj I don't know if a lot say Monthly but through the years I have heard it from many sources. They say focusing to much on the number is not healthy. I weigh once in the morning and once at night. I just like to see the numbers and how they…
  • That is freaking Awesome @rockconner! I love that feeling. I'm looking forward to under 400 again and then 300. Sounds like this is the place for weigh in's. I do my weigh ins on Friday. I'm down 7 lbs for total of 53 from my heaviest. I have lost 15 since being back to healthy habits. I am already feeling so much better…
  • This is an inspiring thread. I know when I lost half of myself I finally made it to my goal weight of 245. I had surgery on my back and I let off the gas. It was not all at once but up and down for past 15 years. I know I have to make this a life change/Identity change. I know I will always need to track my food and…
  • Good advice, I weigh daily but only record weekly. It goes up and down during the week but mostly down on weekly basis. I know they say to only weigh monthly if you have to weigh but I am just not there. lol But I also don't let it wreck my plan if it's not what I want to see.
  • Hello, I'm just getting back to eating healthy. My name is Howie. I have been losing weight all my life. In 2005 I had gotten down to my goal weight of 245 from 490. I had to have back surgery at that same time and it got me out of good habits and I slowly started gaining. It has been up and down since then. I have now…
  • I always journal my food. I feel that is so important in losing. It's too easy to ignore little bites or snacks if you don't write it down. Of course I'm a calorie counter too, so I like to see that I'm staying within my goals. I also like to see the other nutrient goals. I don't enter ahead of time most days but I…
  • Welcome, I am new too. I look forward to getting to know people. I hope the group gets more active in talking. It's so important to have support.

  • My goal is 64 a day but I generally go over that. Sorry you will hate me but I love drinking water. lol I generally don't even count how much because I know I get the amount needed. I do think it is important and helps to lose the weight for sure. WG: 64 oz a day/448 oz a week
  • Hello, I just joined this group too. Tried some of the roll playing games but they just are not my thing. I love to geek out on technology though. My fun time is model railroading. It is so important to have friendships of people doing the same thing. I reached my goal in 2005 and I could not have done it with out a…
  • Name: Howie My Numbers: SW: 490 CW: 437 GW: 437 LTGW: 245 Weigh-ins: Fridays 6/5/20 = 452 6/12/20 = 452 6/19/20 = 444 6/26/20 = 437 Total WL/G for the month = -15 lbs Just getting started so the weight is coming off fast because it is a lot of water weight. I'm looking forward to getting to know people.
  • Sounds like you all are going to have a great time. I wish I could join you. We were having dinner with friends last night so I saved my calories for that and did not eat lunch and did not have dinner until 9pm. I tell you what even though I had a good size burger and a salad I still went to bed feeling hungry. LOL Funny…
  • I have to write it down Carol or I'm not sticking to anything. I will always eat way to much if I don't track.
  • Hi all! The extra skin sucks for sure John. I'm sure with your friend there is hope. I know I will never get rid of mine without surgery there is just to much of it. Sounds like a great weekend Heron. I've been meaning to ask. I have noticed people leave the h off when commenting to you. Is your name spelled like your user…
  • I don't have a sugar problem but I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar and I just can't do it. blech! Heron great idea on portion control. My closed hand makes a good gauge for a 1/4 cup nuts. If I can't close my hand touching my fingers against the back of palm I know I have to much. I have big hands though. lol
  • Wow can't believe 1st of October is coming up. September was a so so month for me. I didn't lose much if any. October will be better. I have decided to cut Alcohol out for the month and maybe longer. I have been enjoying the craft beer a little too much on the weekends. It's getting a little to much habit forming for my…
  • Sorry to hear of the rough times Kevin. I can't imagine what that must be like. We have to keep going but that's not always easy. Heron, I have been biking daily and taking two days off a week with a few exceptions but going pretty strong. I probably have 400 miles on the new tires now so I think I'm good to go.
  • Hi all, things are going good here this week. Carol I'm with you, if you can stand it hold off on the scale and just do some damage control. The scale can make us feel like crap and then we dig a deeper hole. Jennifer it sucks to have to worry about that, I have had my car broke into several times but never the house. We…
  • Been busy for me at work so I have not been on much. I usually pop in during the day. Eating is going good this week. I did have an extra treat day Sunday with having the guys over to watch football. I was able to make up for it through the week though and should have a loss. heronh, good for you for looking ahead of time…
  • I graduated in 85 so love the 80s music but 40's is a favorite too. We had all 40's music in our wedding. My wife came down the isle to Sunday, Monday or Always and we left to Doris Days Sunny Side of the Street. Our pastor was just getting ready to step off the stage when she sang out "Grab your coat and get your hat".…
  • Anytime! I love 80's music, it takes me back to the days.
  • Kris hope you figure out what works for you. Deb Sue I love Huey Lewis and The News, he is my favorite from the 80s.
  • LOL John! Love the commentary. Long weekend and lots of activity's. Didn't fall clear off the wagon but was not good either. No exercise not eating right but back at it today. I had a gain last week and now probably well hopefully maintain this week. It's a constant battle but worth the fight!
  • Hi all busy weekend so I was not on here much. Doing great and continuing to ride. I logged 273 miles for August my goal was 240 so that was good. I few things from last week. Deb Sue - What's everyone's attainable goals for September? 1. Eat Healthy 2. To ride another 240 3. Drop another 10 lbs. ActiveAmyLynn - How do you…
