I crunched my numbers from my intentional surplus diet/deficit break period. Mathematically I have eaten enough to gain 2 pounds. However, from my experience gaining is not as predictable as losing. There are things that play a bigger role like TEF and increased NEAT in gaining.
My scale is FINALLY back down the majority of water surge. In the last 4 days I have lost 8.4 pounds. Isn't that crazy? I am showing 206.4 today. My lowest recent weight is 202.6. I am not sure if I will continue to drop over the next couple of days or if it will happen later. Anything over 10 pounds of water weight, for me, tends to be less predictable on how it will go. If I gain 4 or 5 pounds it is almost always gone within 5 days.
It would be nice if I dropped a little more before I have to go out of town next week and START IT ALL OVER AGAIN. Getting back down as far as I will go would be like a mental oasis for me. I can deal either way but here is hoping.
If I were going to place a bet I would say I gained 1 to 1.5 pounds of lasting weight. I might have gained the full 2 but it has never happened that cleanly when I have been in a surplus before but that was usually a shorter time frame like a vacation.2 -
Hello, new here so thought to upload my weight measurements. At 25 and 5ft1 I’m meant to lose half my body weight just to be healthy which is a scary concept but I’m v.determined. Progress has been good (and faster than expected but I heard it’s like that in the early days!) weight is in kg, but I think I’ve lost about 12lbs this month. I’ve lost a few inches off my waist and hips too and one inch off of each thigh which is promising!
So happy to hear any advice etc! The app I use is Happy Scale which is SO good. It tells you your trend and maps out a trajectory rather than day to day weight which is helpful.

Sunday was a big day for me. I dropped under 300# for the first time in decades, I broke through the 75# weight loss barrier, & I surpassed 20% in bodyweight lost. I started in January at 372# & now I weigh 296#. I'm so pleased!9
-
That is really something to celebrate!....have you been on MFP ?....this Larger Losers group of people are great!...glad you found us!2
-
WOOHOO, @rockconner! That's a whole lot of milestones at once!!!!2
-
That is freaking Awesome @rockconner! I love that feeling. I'm looking forward to under 400 again and then 300.
Sounds like this is the place for weigh in's. I do my weigh ins on Friday. I'm down 7 lbs for total of 53 from my heaviest. I have lost 15 since being back to healthy habits. I am already feeling so much better in general. My mind is clearer and my body is feeling better. I still need new knees but every pound helps with the pressure on them.

@rockconner really awesome and inspiring! 😀3

@howie6267 congrats on losing over 50! It is amazing how fast the body responds to healthy eating by reducing our pain levels.3

@rockconner:
That's a lot of weight.....congratulations!2 -
Weigh in day for me. I'm down 6 lbs this week and made my first goal of 10% lost. I break my journey down in 10% chunks and set a goal of losing 2 lbs a week. So first goal went pretty quick as I always get large numbers the first few weeks.

Hi everyone. 👋🏼
I’m 34 female 5’ 7”. I started at 290.5 ( to be exact ) here’s my numbers I’m not going to post them all cause there are a lot. I’ll post every other week.
4/12 : 290.5
4/26 : 289.4
5/10 : 283.5
5/24 : 281.4
6/7 : 271.3
6/21 : 266.7

My last weeks weigh in was 7/12 : 257.9
Down ward I go. Some weeks are slower then others but like a previous post said, the downward trend is what counts !5 -

Omg they do lol ! What is your dog ? We rescued. They said he’s part pit and part ( they think ) ridgeback. But idk. Yours looks a little like a black mouth cur mix. My vet said maybe mastiff.
They’re both so cute.
He’s my guy.1 -
So cute! I love bully breeds. I've got a pocket pitty/some kind of staffy mix that I love to bits. We fostered for a long time but with COVID, all of the available foster dogs get scooped up in minutes.2

I love them ! Lol. All of them1 -
Yes! I rescued him in NY, and he had a brother...I wanted to take both but couldn’t. They said he was pit and hound. He’s a big cuddler 💗 I also have another pit and a poodle, all rescues!2

I am happy to say that I am finally back to 206 today even though it is not my lowest potential weight at the moment. It has been almost a full month of water retention. Seriously. The last time I was at 206 was June 20th. That is long enough to have unexpected weight gain creep into your thoughts even if you are somewhat accustomed to this type of thing. In the past 5 days I have lost nearly 7 pounds which is another reason those thoughts creep up. If I had been 3 or 4 pounds up for almost 30 days it might not have affected me but 10+ pounds wears you down a bit.
It is the joy of being both a rational and irrational human being.4 -
Yay!..you are such a motivator!....a mover and a shaker!0
