I crossed over to 199.7 and been hanging there for 3 days now. Feels pretty good seeing that number. I whooped in my bathroom 😂

Thanks to the virus I am back to losing and today is numbers day:

This was a whoosh week so I am down 4.4 pounds for the week and it looks like I am masking at most .25lb. There doesn't seem to be much point in reporting my rate of losses right now so when those catch up I will.

All of the weight I upticked going into maintenance and all the new exercise seems to be gone unless I whoosh some more. If I do, it means my energy numbers still need some refinement which would not surprise me.

    Numbers Day

Apparently I forgot to report last week.

Last week I was up .6 pounds.
This week I am down 5.8 pounds which is throwing my numbers off quite a bit. It definitely suggests that I should be eating 100 percent of my exercise calories. My calculated TDEE is 3586 and the MFP avg TDEE is 3575.

Based on MFP's deficit numbers I would have been projected to lose 1.2 pounds this week so even with the big drop that is only a touch faster than I should be losing. It just means I have been losing slightly faster all along. I expected to be wrong but this is a little more wrong than I was anticipating... assuming these number hold.

Ah, numbers! As much as I prefer weighing daily, I'm lucky if I get to go to the bathroom by myself most mornings these days so my thoughts are to record weights weekly and compare to four weeks previous. Weighing daily in the past has given me great insight into my cycle though. I know I typically gain about 5lbs of water weight around ovulation and that doesn't drop off until day 2-3 of my period. It's even been as much as 10lbs. I take measurements once a month as well.

I'm 5'6" and as of today I'm 232, my goal weight is somewhere around 140. My weekly loss rate is set to 1lb but I am also still breastfeeding my toddler and I am unsure what sort of expenditure in calories that adds, so don't want to do anything too steep. Add to that what I call the 'toddler tax' of anything I try to eat and sadly the numbers are not as accurate as I might like, which is a whole new challenge this time! My activity is set to sedentary, but I have a fitbit to add my activity back in. I eat all my exercise calories because I'm either pushing a 25+lb toddler in the stroller or carrying him, 2L of water and emergency supplies in the hiking carrier.

I've spent time reflecting on previous attempts and my biggest issue is boredom snacking. I would restrict calories at meals further and further to keep extra for snacking which would make me hungry and overly food focused, always thinking about what I could eat next, what snacks there were. Doing only one snack before bed for a week let me put more calories back into my meals and helped me shrug away thoughts of snacks, since I wasn't hungry, just bored.

I'm going to give this style a good try for a month and see how it goes. If I have bad days, log it and move on, success is not dependant on perfection, it's not giving up!

Forgot to post here again this month. I've been off a little for the past 2-3 weeks eating more around maintenance. I'm up a few pounds from my recent low of 266 lbs (or -120 lbs), but am tightening up my budget again since yesterday to get back at it.

I hit my lowest weight this morning!...I have lost 76 lbs since May 28, 2019.... at first I was very excited and felt really great about it...as the day has gone on, I am letting myself get kind of down because I have about 75 to 85 more to lose...I want to enjoy and feel good the rest of my life....realistically I might live 12 to 15 more years....and then I ask myself why am I doing this?....I am never going to be a body builder,a model,or wear a bikini....my skin is going to be very saggy and I already have a few wrinkles...I slather myself with body cream every day...I should have stock in Oil of Olay!

Oh well, onward I go...I am like a science experiment...at least I have my binging under control presently and I do feel good....my husband is also losing some weight...my daughter continues to sit on the sidelines and observe...maybe she will wake up eventually...

    Done whining...

@dishiznice congratulations! I haven't lost nearly that much, but I still understand what it feels like to start being body structures. It was amazing for me to actually have collarbones - that was one of the first things to start showing for me :)

I've weighed myself 4 times since August 1 and two of those times were at the Drs. I dont know if I caught myself on a good day or what but I'm officially in The 100s!!! Only by 0.6 lbs but I'm taking it and not looking back. I wont weight myself again until my current pants are loose so I will remain blissfully unaware if this was just a fluke.

I'm frustrated with my numbers right now. Last week wasn't great. On paper I was over my weekly calories by about 3000. I have my weight loss rate set at 1.5 lbs per week, which should be an automatic deficit of 5250 per week. So even if I miscalculated or underestimated by a LOT, this shouldn't be worse than a maintain week. But nope. Big gain. It's up over 3 pounds in about 5 days. And I'm back above 260, which I can't seem to get away from.

Effin' scale. Tuesday has typically been my official WI day, but I'm going to see if tomorrow is any better.

water weight can be a bear, that's for sure! I've done plenty of whining on here about it. If you've eaten out more often, sodium can bring the water weight on, and even the extra food, if higher in carbs than what you are used to eating can also add water weight. So can new exercise. Female cycles, body cycles - sometimes I swear the moon phases can cause water weight gain, and it can take as much as 2 weeks to lose it.

Sadly, the only remedy is patience - keep doing the right things, remember that its not true fat gain, and give it time; that 3 pounds will be gone. But I know how it feels to wish it'd go away NOW!

I hit 77 lbs lost this morning...I have really been losing fast since my last horrible binge fest...I know I need to slow it down but I am really enjoying this vanishing act at the moment...I think I can hit my 80 lb loss for the year by May 28... I am on cruise control right now and I changed up my foods I have been eating...if I continue keeping binges under control, I plan to eat at maintenance the last two weeks of June...it will be after my 6 month doctor visit and my husband and I are planning a short/medium road trip if his RA isn’t raging...having over half of my weight gone is amazing!

I have my goal set at 1.5 lbs per week but I am eating a little less than that...I don’t eat any exercise calories back because I really don’t do much exercise out of the house except errands and shopping...Hopefully our neighborhood pool will open soon and I can actually do some real exercise...and maybe, just “m a y b e “I will be able to reach my goal weight in 2021!...

well, it may not be as fast as it looks. You had a lot of water weight to drop after that last binge, so that is going to make the numbers a little inflated for a bit. though that's a good thing - means your overall rate, when adjusted for the water, may be around 1.5 - 2.0 lbs where you want it; give it a couple of weeks with everything holding steady and evaluate then.

Though I completely understand the enjoyment of a really fast loss rate :) Remember my whining when I forced myself to work on slowing it down from 3 lbs/wk?

I hit a new low this morning - 243.6 lbs. 4 weeks ago, I weighed in at 251.1 lbs, which is giving me a 4 week loss rate of 1.875 lbs Thursday is my actual weigh in day; I was expecting somewhere near 242 lbs for that, so we'll see. I plan to eat out tonight, so that might mess me up for the next few days......

Thanks, @bmeadows380! I calmed down after whining this morning. I think the big gain since last Thursday is a combination of a fattening dinner from Sunday and Mexican from Monday lunch.

But I do know I need to improve in some areas, too. I'd really prefer to get a lot closer to my calorie goals than this, so I need to do better at my planning and follow-through! Also, I haven't done as much exercising since the gym closed, and when I do I'm not burning as many calories, but I'm struggling with wanting to eat at the same calorie level as before.

If you have been calorie creeping, as I have been, I encourage you not to just tell yourself to tighten up but to see if you can determine an underlying reasons. I know my reason. My plans were altered. My vacation was cancelled and I am feeling a little indifferent at the moment about weight loss. My habits are secure enough that I can continue to lose even if I am not at full rate. I think I am going to schedule a diet/deficit break and see if that helps. I am just waiting on some numbers to firm up again and then I will do it.

These last almost two months have been a challenge for me... I've gotten away from my logging habits and eating at a sizable deficit and thus I'm not really making any progress. I'm down to ~272 now and seem to be hovering in the 270-273 range. That's up a few pounds from my recent low of 266.7 back on 3/30.

I've withdrawn a bit socially as I've been in a mental funk between the pandemic, being stuck at home, and uncertainty with the future of my job. Trying to get through all of that, and in the meantime I haven't been pushing myself super hard on the weight loss front.

I'm not eating -great-, but I am still being fairly reasonable on the whole. I've never been super concerned with the speed of my weight loss effort, just as long as I don't slip and gain a ton of weight. I seem to be doing alright in that aspect.

Anyway, that's why I've been kind of quiet / MIA lately. Hope everyone is doing well.

It is wise not to push yourself too hard. We are not weight loss machines we are human. I am sure you have a line that you will not allow yourself to cross again so take care of yourself.

I am down to 202.6 today for a total loss of 5 pounds on the week.

This has been an interesting run of weight for the last couple of months. Coming off the diuretic has influenced my whooshes and kept them from happening as fully as they had been. As a result I have been operating with the general knowledge that my TDEE was higher but no confirmation until the last couple of days.

Thanks to the mess I am not convinced that any of my rate of losses are correct.

    3 week: 2.4
    6 week: 1.53
    12 week 1.6
    Running (since Jan 10): 1.02

The problem with the 12 and running is they include a maintenance period of over a month.

I am debating about rebooting the spreadsheet again instead of trying to keep waiting for the trends to clean up. I have to wait either way. Not a decision for today though.
