Thanks so much for the inspirational comments guys. Much appreciated.

Thanks neanderthin. I think its a vanity issue ;-) If I wear a shirt now it doesn't even look like I lift. If I can just pack on even a little bit of meat it would be great. I know now what to do to loose weight, so it wont be to difficult to shred down a bit.

Have a look at our workout routine, great to shed some pounds - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1188837-spartacus-workout-challenge-blood-and-sand LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR ;-)

In my humble opinion, not a lot can beat a couple of rounds of Tabata or the Spartacus Workout.....or a combination of the 2.

Test, lol.

I'm no expert, but here's how I see it. If you need say 3400 calories daily to gain x amount of kg per week (sho, that's a lot of food!) and you do some intense cardio daily and burn say 350 calories, you only "provided" 3150 odd calories for your body to use that day. Most pro bodybuilders dont do a lot of cardio anyways…

Thanks Ninerbuff...will check it out.

Thanks JonMB! 25% bf, shucks man I need to rethink my goals ;-) Well I mean that is where I would like to end up anyways. 12 weeks would be okay to just get me feeling good and get me to swim without a shirt on, if you know what I mean. I do weight training 5 days a week and do 4 minutes of Tabata after every gym session.…

Thanks Indignantgnom...but the pic you uploaded doesn't show the 3rd pic? I wish they would add a pic upload function that works on MFP.
-
Thank you. It's has been tough at times, but with support from some guys and gals on MFP it has been made a bit easier to help me focus on my goals. You know who you are....Semper Fortis.

Hi there, here you go..... http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/nutrition/healthy-eating/7-high-protein-vegetables-to-include-in-your-diet.html http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-4491/My-Top-7-Sources-of-PlantBased-Protein.html Good luck and Godspeed.

Here where I stay in South Africa....about 20 bucks.

I make my own protein bars. The Internet is full of ideas for homemade protein bars and it takes about 10 minutes to make a batch that will last a week. You can add your own ingredients to fit your taste.
-
I only do 16:8 IF...even on "off" days. Has become a lifestyle to only eat after 12pm.

Here you go ma'am, no one inspires like Ernestine Shepherd ;-) http://www.fitfastatanyage.com/tag/female-bodybuilding-2 Good luck and God bless.

Seems like things have been tough. I certainly am no Dr Phil, but if you need some advise on fitness and dieting feel free to add me. Please understand that I don't mean you need any professional help. I mean that if you need nothing but fitness advice you're definitely in the right place. Godspeed and good luck.

Oh sorry....I see now. Insanity. Well, many ways to skin a cat....or to get a skinny cat.
-
What Liv said. Add more protein. See if you can keep the ratio at about 40-40-20 (prot-carbs-fat) or I would even go 50-20-30. Eat a lot of greens and healthy fats. Supplement with flax seed. If you are REALLY serious about losing weight, I would even go as far as to say leave the apple....fructose = sugar. DO A LOT OF…

@chamcg26 - those calories are the calculated calories needed for me to lose weight. For maintaining my current weight it's a lot more and to bulk up its even much more.
-
@meow1991 - Raising or lowering your metabolic rate has got nothing to do with eating.....there are no scientific evidence to back that statement that eating smaller more frequently will speed up your metabolism.

Guys, I'm getting crucified here just for writing about my experience, so thanks for that. Please note that I have an extremely busy schedule, I literally do not have the time to plan for 6 daily meals. I have to get up at 4am in the morning and work very long hours. This Intermittent Fasting is not a diet for me.....it is…
-
@Touji....to be honest, that's just plain dangerous not eating. Even the people in the Bible that fasted long periods for religious purposes did some form of eating. If you read my post you will see that I eat 2000 calories DAILY. It's called a "lean-gain fast". I fast for 16 hours then I eat my meals in the 8 hour…
-
I basically just wanted to give some information on how it has worked for me. Intermittent Fasting and HIIT is definitely not a new way of thinking or dieting. This is something that has actually been practiced since the dawn of mankind.....I'm pretty sure that the Croods didn't sit in their cave preparing their 6 meals…
-
Please by all means I agree with the other folks here.....YOU NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR FIRST. Even seasoned athletes schedule doctor visits on a frequent basis. I just wanted to give you an explanation on why water is important for fat loss.
-
@AJ. Remember you need adrenaline to trigger Peripheral lipolysis and fat catabolism. That can only be done in 3 ways (not going into that) but the easiest way is to train fasted when blood sugar levels are at their lowest.
-
Bear with me here.... Lipolysis and thermogenis are what cause you to loose fat. and if timed right loose the fat without the muscle. This is how lipolysis works: Fat loss is roughly a two step process. First, the fat is released from the fat cells. Triglycerides are broken down into 1 glycerol and 3 fatty acids, which are…

And don't be scared to use the dirty four letter word......H....E......L......P
-
Good luck....just stick to the basics.

Just stick to the basics. Don't try and think too much about diet,..it'll make you hungry. Don't try and think too much about what the correct exercises are....it'll confuse you. Pick a diet and an exercise regime...and stick with it for a year. But, that's just my opinion....Godspeed.
