1) Steve 2) West of Cleveland, Ohio 3) Continued activity and fitness - I'm basically lazy, and need structured workouts or I won't do them. I'm actually maintaining now. Since starting this journey in September, I've lost 40 pounds, and since June 1 haven't fluctuated from 150 by more than 1.5 pounds. (Just got back from…

Mine's been sitting on the shelf for 22 years except when I participate in a club ride. Other than replacing the foam pads now and then, it is like new.

I use a paraffin/beeswax mix in a crock pot. Or if I'm lazy, White Lightning Clean Ride. No dirty oils, nothing for dirt to stick to, and a clean drivetrain.

[Edit] Changed to Fuglsang My daughter watches the races with me, and picked a team: Tejay Van Garderen Andrew Talansky Janier Alexis Acevedo Frank Schleck Peter Sagan Fabian Cancellara Jens Voigt Blel Kadri Mark Cavendish

Which second one? And what's "Welwyn Junior Racing" as the league for MFP? I went to sign up at the NBS Sports fantasy challenge, but all I could find is a link to log on if you're a returning player. Nowhere to register as a new user?

Good thing I'd set down my tea mug before scrolling down, or I'd be giving my keyboard a bath right now. :) I had a Team Zap! T-shirt back then, too, but it shrunk and was donated to Goodwill long ago. I'd forgotten about that until picking a fantasy team jersey.

Team Slo reporting in! Alberto Contador Bauke Mollema Janier Alexis Acevedo Joaquim Rodriguez16 Marcel Kittel Sylvain Chavanel (was Jeremy Roy, we'll see how that change turns out.) Christophe Riblon Benjamin King Michael Albasini

All these are from 1989-91 or thereabouts. Not to bad Local club's imitation 7-11 team kit Here's you lime/purple combo from Trek And lastly, the ugliest tights I've ever seen. I did ride with them way back when, and now that I've lost 40 pounds, they fit for the first time in decades. But I don't think I'll ride in them…

Crap! After 79 straight days of riding my bicycle for #30daysofbiking beginning April 1, I missed yesterday! We had a big storm come through with 1.6" of rain and 60 MPH winds, which left quite a mess behind. We were picking up branches, and putting things back where they belong, then eating, and I forgot all about riding!…

Thank you! I feel so much better with the weight loss and the much higher level of activity. Last September at my 60th birthday I was an overweight couch potato. Now I'm doing Phase 3 cardiac rehab and weight machines three times a week, riding bicycles daily, walking with my wife, and we just bought kayaks for even more…

Woohoo! I've reached my goal of 150 pounds, down from 189 in September!!!

Right-Click, Open in new Window/Tab works. This forum has a very narrow format. It takes up less than 1/4 of my 27" screen width.

Like Archon2, I'm running an old wired computer. In my case it is a Cateye from 1992 on my Bridgestone RB-T. On the other bikes (as well as redundantly on the RB-T) I'm using my iPhone and Digifit software. This works with my Polar H7 BT heart rate monitor, and syncs with MFP.

My cars' names are Big Wagon, Little Wagon, and Red Car. My scooters are named Blue, Gray, and White. So I guess my bikes are named Old Green Bike, Red Bike, Craigslist Bike, and Xtracycle. :-)
-
My bikes all seem to have the same name, 'cause when I ride, people point at me an yell "Fred" ;-) http://biskey7.wordpress.com/2011/04/02/bicycling-are-you-a-fred/ (Definition #1 and to a point, #3 - definitely not #2)

Finished a wonderful ride for Day 50 in row of #30daysofriding

Scosche Rhythm Bluetooth LE Speed and Cadence Sensor to use with the Digifit app on my phone. I'll mount this on my Trek 970 for now, as I have a 20+ year old Cateye on my RB-T

Thanks Kerry, and I very much appreciate the words of warning. I had already decided that my streak was going to end. But I do some amateur weather watching as a hobby, and was outside checking the rain gauge for the local NWS office. It had calmed down and was actually pretty pleasant out (down from a high of 88˚.) That's…

(Too late to edit the above post) OK, I’m nuts. I just went out after 11 PM for 2 miles after the Tornado Warning expired to complete Day 42 in a row of #30daysifbiking!

I’m bummed… Today would have been 42 consecutive days of #30daysofbiking But severe weather kept me from riding. I’ve gotta start all over. I should have gone out earlier when it wasn't raining. I put it off because the roads were pretty wet, and school had just got out, which makes our road extremely busy with kids…

That sounds like an excellent plan. You're starting with a classic, lively frame, and using reliable modern components. Should be an extremely versatile bike when finished! I've got those bottle cages on my Bridgestone RB-T. Theywork great, and even fit my insulated Klean Kanteen bottles.

Here's a quick photo of Mrs Slo's new 1973 Raleigh Grand Prix turned into a town bike. It arrived Friday from Seattle, and I spent today scrubbing, polishing, and waxing. It sure rides nice!More/better photos to follow. Larger image: http://goo.gl/aBzQ03

This will be fun to watch! I have the RB-1's slower brother, the RB-T that I bought new in 1992. What are your plans? Period correct, or modern components?

I'm not in your area, but welcome aboard the Ohio forum!

Day 28 of #30daysofbiking caught me in a brief rain shower. On the bright side, it was one of the few days this month that it was’t windy! Day 29 of #30daysofbiking complete. Hauling the Trek 970 frame with my Xtracycle sport utility bike! Taking advantage of the nice afternoon between this morning's rain and this…

After a beautiful 75˚ day yesterday, Day 22 of #30daysofbiking was ridden in temps in the 40˚s and windy. Happy Earth Day!
