Mountain Dew seems to be the hardest soda to give up. I've started to drink the V-8 Fusion Energy drinks (for caffeine-not a coffee drinker) and that the only thing that's helped me get past the soda cravings.

I actually brush my teeth after dinner to stop me from eating sweets at night time- During the day I try to keep healthy snacks around to eat if I'm craving something. I've also traded soda out for the V8 Fusion Energy drinks.

I eat a spinach salad with chicken cooked with cilantro-red wine vinegar for my "dressing". (I add broccoli, edamame, etc) Or a Spinach wrap with chicken and other veggies.

Just remember that cardio is great for long term cardiovascular health. I use to run 15 miles a week and also lift weights and saw decent results. I've changed to lifting 5x a week and doing the stepmill or incline on the treadmill for my cardio, and am amazed by the results.

I've actually just started the "New Rules of Lifting for Women" recommended by a lot of women weight lifters for beginners. The goal is to lift 3x per week.
