  • I always pack easy lunches. I'll pack some leftovers, or a Cliff bar, or a turkey sandwich, or something along those lines. I almost always throw in a piece of fruit and a Greek yogurt. If you don't want to use the communal fridge, you could throw a freezer pack into your lunch bag. I've got a lunch bag with a built-in…
  • Obligatory not a doctor. My experience is that natural heart rate can vary more than is commonly believed. Some years ago I was in the hospital for an unrelated issue, but the doctors were very concerned that my heart rate was high. They ran some tests, and scheduled a further followup for some cardiac imaging and stress…
  • As a proud Gen-Xer, I say "Whatever"
  • Eating exercise calories was THE KEY for my successful weight loss and subsequent maintenance.
  • I wonder if the study authors Jennifer and Trista are incels?
  • I don't care about carbohydrates, but we have specific things we get at Costco: - Coffee (beans and K-cups) - Egg whites - Ground beef - Greek yogurt - Frozen berries - Muesli - Hummus - Street tacos (yum) - Cinnamon Toast Crunch - Big block o' cheddar cheese

  • I'll go even further. Using exercise as a reward was the key for me to lose weight and get fit.

  • The inexperienced in wisdom and virtue, ever occupied with feasting and such, are carried downward, and there, as is fitting, they wander their whole life long, neither ever looking upward to the truth above them nor rising toward it, nor tasting pure and lasting pleasures. Like cattle, always looking downward with their…

  • I really hope this is supposed to be "sodastream". Otherwise you might want to get your dog to the vet. :p
  • You're in the right place. Good luck. If you haven't done so, make sure to check out the posts stickied in this thread: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10300319/most-helpful-posts-general-health-fitness-and-diet-must-reads
  • I would starve myself doing this. I weigh ~155 lbs and eat ~2500 to maintain. 1500 kcal would be an unsustainable cut.

  • Agree with the others. Stop watching and start doing.

  • You don't have to workout in the morning. The idea that you "must" workout in the morning was a motivation killer for me for many years. I'm not a morning person. When I started getting serious about exercise, I started going at lunchtime. I was able to make that stick.
  • We're non-traditional this way, but we always do brunch with French toast, fruit salad, and egg bakes. With lots of cookies to follow. Of course maybe we're not doing anything this year...
  • How is babby formed?
  • When you say you weight has stayed the same, do you mean it hasn't changed for 21 straight daily readings? Or that it hasn't changed for 3 weekly readings? If it's the latter, be aware that many body weight scales keep the previous reading in electronic memory, and only change the display if the reading changes by more…
  • I will feast on Thanksgiving day and a few days around Christmas. I'll have plenty of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving, cookies at Christmas, and strong ale and dark. Then, when the feasting time is done, I'll pick back up on eating how I normally do, probably cutting back a bit extra for the next several weeks to drop the few…
  • I agree with those who say you can eat anything and lose or maintain weight, with a big BUT. One of my worst "fat guy habits" was picking up extra food during my commute - burgers and fries, gas station doughnuts, or candy bars, or string cheese, Swiss cake rolls, etc. I would resolve to stop, and I would be good for a few…
  • Hi Robert, it's going to be difficult for people to give you much advice without more specific information. What do you mean by "weight control plus"? Is this a product or a program? Or do you mean you want advice on weight control plus advice on other things? Are you trying to lose weight? How much? How much do you weigh…
  • As for me, most of my dinners come in around 600 kcal. Last night was Trader Joe's orange chicken with some rice and roasted broccoli. A personal comfort food favorite is grilled cheddar cheese sandwiches with tomato soup. We had some kick-@$$ grilled chicken fajitas this past weekend that are sounding mighty good right…
  • I was doubtful (we don't have this chain around my parts), but I looked it up on the Cook Out nutrition page: Big Double burger: 311 kcal Onion Rings Side: 128 kcal (presumably double side is 256 kcal) All I can say is that these must be small portions! Our fast food of choice is Culver's, where a single burger and a side…
