Hi, I've lost 3 stone on slimming world but my weight loss slowed so I'm back here to try and shake things up. I'm a 41 year old mum who has a part time job but mostly life revolves round taking care of my family and avoiding hoovering up their leftovers!

I love Aldi and Lidl. Lidl has a particularly good bakery section. They are a lot cheaper than the other supermarkets too.

If you suffer from really heavy flow, a menstrual cup is a godsend - I don't know how I'd cope with my heavy coil induced periods without one. Other than that, hugs and sympathy - cycle problems are horrid :(

Well, my son is finally in a complete arm cast and back to school full time - he's coping well with it, bless him. So, I was back to the gym yesterday. - Decided to drop the squat weight right down, use the kettlebells and work on form. I did some bodyweight ones to warm up, then 5x5 at 17.5lb. They felt better than with…

Looks like I'll miss a few gym sessions as my youngest has broken his arm and it needed an op to stabilise the break with wires, so he's having some time at home. You're all doing great - I won't ask you to do a few reps for me though ;)

Went to gym on Friday. Did some bodyweight squats first to limber up, then tried using the smith machine with 44lb. Completely couldn't get it first go, then managed 4 sets of 5. Not sure that the smith machine is the answer - might go and play with the kettlebells. Overhead press was fine -27.5 at 5x5. One of the staff…

Thanks for the tips - there might well be an imbalance issue as I have a dodgy left knee. I'll try that stretch out.

Nice pun ;) Squats - just the bar again so 44lb 5x5. My form still isn't right - I really struggle to get low and I seem uneven - the bar slides to one side and my shoulder hurts on that side.. One of the staff at the gym has suggested I use the smith machine to build a bit of strength and confidence on the form, then go…

I just aim for everything to average out over the whole week. It seems to work and suits me.

Did my first workout B yesterday. I posted in kg last time as that is what everything is marked up in at our gym, but I'll convert to pounds as that what you are all using. So... Squats - stayed with just the bar as my form isn't that good - I've watched videos, but I'm struggling to get as low as they do. At least I…

Nope, if I want a tan I can use fake tan and if I'm going to get cancer I'd rather get it via the medium of bacon and other cured meats...

Right, went and joined the gym and did my first stronglifts session today... Used the rowing machine to warm up, as I thought it would at least get my upper body muscles working,. I cycle to the gym anyhow. Squats - just the bar, which they said was 20kg - so 20kg 5x5 They had some lighter barbells, so for bench press I…

Great stuff tiggsnanny! I lost a pound this week, so total now 266.2lbs!
-
Right, I'm going to go for it at 3 times a week then. Wish me luck :)

Thank you both for your input. Luckily my trips are short - things like the school run, shopping and parks, all less than 5 miles. I do tend to carry a lot of stuff around though - my husband did tell me off when I was about to go on a longer weekend ride carrying a chain lock that weighs nearly as much as his road bike…

Just remember, you can lose weight, but he may forever be impaired by a lack of appreciation of social boundaries. Can't believe there are people defending his actions on here really - there are just some lines you don't cross in polite society and that's that.

0.5lb off today! Total now 229.9lb
-
Ha Ha, got me!
-
I may have worded that badly. I was told in Body Pump to do squats instead of lunges. Good to know my knee isn't a barrier to lifting :)
-
Thank you for the input, I really appreciate it.
-
Forgot my 5.5 on Friday, so that's 207.4 - we've nearly lost a whole me!
-
Yup, me and my hot wheels...:)

Check that branch of LA Fitness hasn't been taken over by Sports Direct like ours has.

I found your story extremely moving. You are amazing.

Any diet will do :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-29031985 It's sticking to it that's important...

I have a cupboard full of recipe books, but I admit there are perhaps 5 to 10 things i cycle through regularly. Having small boys, the default reaction when I try something new is YUCK, so I don't do something different more than once a week as I don't want to throw away half of what I cook.

Going to try attaching it to my sock when I ride my bike with the children shortly. Things like Map my ride tend to come out strange due to the stop start nature of riding with children; 'Mummy, I've fallen off 'Look, a blackberry bush' ' Can I stroke that dog' etc Hoping the fitbit will be an improvement on my usual…

*lbs from me thanks to holiday water weight, bringing the total to 127.8lbs. Like this thread :)

Wow - that is the kind of situation I don't deal well with at all, so hats off to you!
