About two years ago, I lost 50 pounds in three months doing keto. I didn't gain anything back but I still have a lot to lose. I've been doing keto for about 2 weeks. I dropped 12 pounds. Trying to stick with it this time.

Premier protein drinks from Costco are great. They have about 4g of carbs, 30g portion and tons of vitamins. :)
-
It says it's 2g net carbs.

I believe potassium was the problem. I took 6 potassium pills and had an avocado last night and I feel great today. No twitches. :) Thank you everyone.

I'm supplementing to take magnesium and my calcium is fine. Potassium is the only one I can see I only get about halfway....

I am currently doing Ketosis dieting right now. I'm one week and two days In, 11 pounds down. I'm sure a lot is water weight but I feel much better. It took me a long time to get into ketosis this time because I've been home all day doing next to nothing except reading for an exam. Though losing 11 pounds while doing…

Lol I like your wording. :) I'll try increasing. 1200?

Thanks for the information

My blood sugar is not high, my ketone blood test was what I was talking about. I tested my blood sugar, it's fine. Thanks.

Thanks :)

No, I'm not diabetic. I am doing a low carb type of diet. I find I think more clearly in ketosis and keep a better regulated sleep schedule. The weight loss is fairly quick as well.

I second the Premier Protein from Costco, except I like the chocolate ones more than the strawberry, though neither are bad. I haven't tried vanilla yet. These work well for me. :)

You said before that you used to drink a lot of soda. One can build up a tolerance to caffeine over time so if you used to drink a lot of soda, the caffeine in tea is not likely to affect you much if you cut out soda. Green tea is really healthy too, especially as a matcha (powdered form you just mix in water.) I love tea.…

Perhaps make set times you are supposed to go for a walk or workout and tell yourself you have to go even if you don't want to. Try to get a routine and stick to the routine so that you don't even have to think about it later, you just do it.

Based on picture... 8 months?

Good idea. My university offers PTs at pretty low costs. Didn't consider that. =)

Thanks. I will go check out what I can do at my gym. I am not really interested in gaining size, just lean muscle mass to help my metabolism and not be as weak while lifting things or running.
-
Thank you. =)

I am pretty new to exercise and also overweight. Should I focus more on losing more weight first then building strength or can I balance the two?: My diet is currently low calorie, low carb, high protein.
-
Okay thanks. I'll switch to the 5lbs for now and see how that goes. I do have access to a gym.
-
Never. Energy drinks are unhealthy and dangerous.
-
Thank you.

Welcome. =) You should make a group and ask others in your program to join so you can work together. =)

Yes. lol

I agree with the post above, Sparkpeople.com has lots of videos and support. They even have exercises for those who may have mobility issues. They have lots of sources.

I agree. I always thought I must have a slow metabolism too but a couple weeks ago I had a test done and found my metabolism is just below the normal mark, but still in the normal range. With diet and exercise, I'm sure I can get it above that number too.

Thank you everyone for your replies. It's very motivating. =)

Best story I have read so far. Congratulations! You are amazing! Good luck to you and Jackie.
