Oh how little empathy the people on this site have. Smh. I knew better than to post about this. Lesson learned. I hope none of you ever have a bad day, just to have someone say "suck it up." If you don't have anything nice to say.... But thank you to everyone who responded with their experiences and words of encouragement.…

None of that is new information for me... Honestly I don't think there is any "new" information. 5lbs a month isn't enough for someone at my size. I obviously just don't care enough about myself to do better.

The calories MFP assigns to you are already at a deficit. When you work out, you make that deficit even greater. Exercise is about fitness, not weight loss. It may make it easier to earn a deficit on days where you are feeling hungry, or celebrating, ect...but it's the calories that will lead to a loss. I wouldn't stress…

Your log will save no matter what. It just won't give you a "if every day were like today..." prediction. You really shouldn't aim to be that far under on a regular basis... But if you're not hungry then you're not hungry. No matter what MfP will save it.

Now it's stuck in my head!

I weigh in when: 1) I feel like I was good the day before and drank a lot of water 2) I wake up hungry (it's a psychological thing..if I'm hungry there's nothing extra in there lol) 3) I've used the bathroom (you know what I mean) I don't weight in when: 1) I ate a big meal the night before (or had a lot of salt) 2) I…

A lot of very active people will eat more than 1500 calories in a day...If you've only been at it for 3 weeks then you need to give yourself a break...your body is adjusting and your muscles are holding on to water....There are a million calorie counters out there...I would look at your BMR, look at your TDEE, and set a…

People with low iron usually crave ice...never heard of craving red meat...if you're feeling tired, or looking more pale, or feeling out of breath, then I'd see a doctor...otherwise, enjoy your steak ps. I googled "craving red meat" just for kicks and pretty much the whole first page mentions low iron...not from any sites…

It's all about calories in and calories out for weight loss...everything else is just noise...If you are looking to really balance your diet and maximize the health benefits of food, then "what" you eat becomes much more important....but you could eat Twinkies all day and lose weight so long as you use more calories than…

I do intervals on resistance and keep my pace up....For me cardio means my pulse and respirations should both be up....I should be sweating and I shouldn't be able to have a full conversation with someone....I feel like walking is probably more beneficial in general...but I burn more calories on the elliptical, and it…

Calories are literally units of energy...How can energy have nothing to do with metabolism?!?! "Metabolism - Biology, Physiology. the sum of the physical and chemical processes in an organism by which its material substance is produced, maintained, and destroyed, and by which energy is made available."It's ALL about…

I'm not usually on 1200 cals... But today I managed it with a protein shake for breakfast, spinach salad with chicken and lite dressing for lunch, chicken potatoes and sautéed spinach for dinner, 2 mozzarella cheese sticks and 1 chocolate pudding cup for a snack. Super hangry... But good food.

Is this still active?

I have about 130lbs left to lose

You can eat bread... Calories are all that matter for weight. Log everything you eat, use a food scale, and just be aware of how much energy you're using vs. consuming.
-
Make sure you're monitoring your carb intake... It should be as even as possible throughout the day. If your numbers are still high, you may need to see your doctor to talk about additional medication.
-
Use them... I know it seems counter intuitive, but when I have sore muscles they hurt 10000x more when I just sit around not moving. Take some Tylenol and move around.

Renal diets are always individualized so I would wait to talk to the RD. I hope she will reconsider dialysis - it really is the best treatment at this stage of the disease.
