http://weightology.net/weightologyweekly/?page_id=415&cpage=1#comment-20158 Just leaving this link here. Have a read, it explains one of the reasons people regain weight quite well. My plan: eat mindfully, get as much exercise as possible, have a 3kg buffer that, if I go over, will tell me I need to stop doing what I'm…

Thanks for your reply! Food for thought :-)

. Out of curiosity, a lot of people say their issues with bingeing disappear on a keto diet, does it take away the emotional attachment to food as well? I'm thinking very overweight people who would describe food as their best friend and major comfort. Do these issues suddenly go away? .

It works well for a lot of people, to which I say good for them! For anyone with an eating disordered past however, it can be very triggering and is best avoided. For now, I prefer to achieve a deficit through a daily small reduction in calories, which I find much easier to sustain and moderate.

I do if they ask how I lost my weight. Not one person so far has used it, therefore nowadays I just keep it brief and don't go into specifics. There's only so many times you can see that glazed look come into their eyes without getting frustrated and not bothering.

Nah, cover that junk with shorts. Nothing worse than watching the Olympics or whatever and there's meat and two veg flopping all over the place.

Why did I never think of doing that? I don't buy milo anymore, one spoonful is too many, a hundred is never enough!

Runkeeper. It's free, tracks multiple parameters and is easy to use. Runtastic is OK, does the job, but I hate the way they try to wring every single last penny out of you that they can.

Goosebumps. Thank you. You're a little island of sanity in the swamp of misinformation and hearsay that can be MFP. Long may you prosper :flowerforyou:

Nahhh, thanks but I'll settle for mediocre and being able to eat mucho carbs and drink my body weight in rum at Christmas. Besides, I've been doing this for over two years with the likelihood of spending another eighteen months to get where I want. It's all good though, because the journey is as good as the destination. .

There is an easier way. http://flexible-diet.co.uk Let go of the idea that to lose weight you need to restrict anything except calories - there are no good or bad foods. Find a reasonable calorie goal that leads to 1-2 lbs loss per week max, find an exercise you love doing and don't beat yourself up for anything, ever.…

Just had a random thoughtie but forgot what it was by the time I hit reply :(

I could totally drive that.

5'9" and 99kg (219), eat about 1500 per day. Started at 141kg (310) two years ago and have had to gradually decrease and become MUCH more consistent than I was, which sucks the big one. Damn you autocorrect!

I'm sorry, what? Blood would become too dense and you'd die? The only thing I'm aware of that can make your blood "dense" is polycythaemia or a clotting disorder, possibly. In what way would sugar kill you if it's not processed?

Two words - anal leakage.

Mangoes in the fridge. To me it's the smell of Christmas.

Looks like I won't make my goal this year. Did a 10K in August and ever since my right foot has been sore. Got close, though - 40:17. Would like to change my goal to completing 50 parkruns. Am almost there, have done 42 so far (the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything). .

Eh, I think the truth lies in the middle between the mean camp and the butthurt camp. I have noticed that the most knowledgeable people, whom I respect (Stroutman, SarahUK, Sidesteel), tend to reply to threads with considered responses, taking into account all sides and present facts in an easily understandable way. I try…

I'm an ICU nurse and on night shifts when I have a patient in a single room I'll close the door and let one rip. It's the perfect crime, the patient's asleep and no-one can hear. On a related note, I hold the record in our house for the worst fart ever smelt. It still makes me laugh when I think about my husband's head…
