Been MIA for awhile! Went on vacay for a week and although I brought my running gear I did not run once :o Haha. I got back last week and only managed to get 3 runs in, one 4 miler and two 5 milers. Today I did 6 miles with a 10:20 average. so I am starting off the week right and definitely want to get my four runs in this…

4.25 yesterday 6.1 yesterday @GreatCthulhu , As others have said hang in there. Try not to get too caught up in times, slow down and enjoy your run. My average pace is generally 10:30-11:30 right now, I am by no means fast ... I am actually rather slow but, I love going out and running anyways. Don't get discouraged :)…

To everyone that talked about their shoes- thanks for the input. I've been contemplating what new running shoes I should get to replace my Nike Pegasus 30's. They give me blisters right on my toe nails. I have neutral footing and I am thinking of going with the new Brooks Ghost 7's. I tried on the 6's last year and they…

THAT'S AWESOME! When I go on long runs I usually stop halfway and walk in a store and get some water ... I think the little 2-3 minute break helps give me the stamina to finish my run strong. I am thinking of joining a gym for the same reason. But I really don't want too ... I just feel like I should haha.

sounds like a good plan! I hope the rest helps your knees! :)
-
@Ceci_O_K Also, what kind of running shoes did you end up getting? What is your pronation?
-
Beautifully done! You guys all run so fast to me ;)

13.13 miles .... I literally felt like I was running forever and all over the place to get to that distance. I wasn't really into it and felt like I was just "moseying along" but felt pretty accomplished afterwards. I'm still in awe that @FireStorm1972 has the discipline and determination to run that distance on a…

I went for 4 miles yesterday and 6.35 today. XT tomorrow.

@poke987 Knee problems are the absolute worst. I freak out every time I even feel the slightest niggle in my knee. I really hope that it doesn't turn into anything serious for you. Have you had any knee issues previously? Try not to psyche yourself too bad without knowing what's really going on. Also, I think that…

Okay, just wondering what it looked like for everyone else :) @MeanderingMammal I don't do static stretches before running and probably should have used the term "warm up" instead. I haven't started tempo sessions yet, they're very intimidating to me for some reason haha. Do you like them? Do you find them to be…

I have similar goals to you both for my first!

11.05 miles today with a better pace than last week's 11mile LR. From 11:30 to 10:55. It took me just barely over 2 hours. So yippee skippy. In other running news- I found out that I there is half here locally in March, so I am going to run that in addition to the Rock'n'Roll half I signed up for in May. and my family in…
