  • I'm starting on Jan 5 (tomorrow)! Did several other programs last here with people on MFP - the support here is key!
  • I'm starting tomorrow, if there's a group please let me know the link! I completed Insanity, T25, and Asylum last year, but then fell off the wagon a little due to multiple injuries. Feel free to add me!
  • Note I agree that it sucks for calculating exercises - I still use my Polar H7 HRM for when I work out. it does not replace a HRM for tracking exercises. It does give you a general idea of your activity level and is good tool for motivation and tracking progress. The app is pretty slick.
  • I got a fitbit flex for xmas and wasn't sure I'd like it. However, after using it for a couple weeks I've taken to it quite a bit. I do find myself more motivated to take the 6 flights of stairs at work and to complete my goals of being active and losing weight. It integrates nicely with MFP and runkeeper. I'm giving it 6…
  • I'm starting Max:30 Tomorrow (1/5). I've completed Insanity, T25, and Asylum last year and having people here to help me get through it was key! Anyone doing these programs add me!
  • Not a vegetarian, but I take whey protein shakes to up my protein. I recommend optimum nutrition rocky road flavor.
  • I'm starting my second round of Insanity today (doing fit test and plyo cardio circuit - so today will actually be day 2). The first time I did insanity earlier this year, MFP friends were KEY in helping me get through the program. I'll gladly help motivate people here and will take all the help I can get again as well.…
  • Awesome results!!!!!
  • Alpha is definitely on the easy side, beta and gamma do offer a good workout. Alpha simply lays the foundation for you to be able to get through beta and gamma. IMO some people don't need alpha and would be better served to jump right into beta. After insanity I did some alpha workouts during my cool-down from insanity.…
  • I've completed insanity, done half of asylum (had to stop due to shin splints), and have gone through all of the t25 workouts. I'm now doing a beta/gamma hybrid with many days of doing two workouts back to back. T25 is an excellent program and a great fit for me now. It's far less high impact than insanity and asylum. The…
  • If you're in pretty decent shape and want to lose some pounds and get toned insanity is the best. If you're in moderate shape and want something less intense t25 is great too. I've heard good things about chalean and les mills combat, just that they're not as hard as insanity. I haven't done p90x because I don't have a lot…
  • Hey everyone, I'm doing a beta/gamma hybrid and I love the program. I completed insanity in march, did half of asylum, but had to quit 1/2 through due to shin splints so I picked up t25. I'm looking for mfp friends doing t25. I learned from insanity having friends here helps motivate each other a lot!
  • If you pause 10 times you are kinda ruining the structure of the workout. In never paused, I took a couple water breaks (5-10 seconds) much like the people on the video do. Honestly you should probably do t25 alpha and work your way up to insanity. Month 2 of insanity is MUCH harder than month 1. T25 is an excellent…
  • Took me 1 month to 'see' results. The the weight started to fall off month 2. Lost something like 17 lbs during insnaity and another 3-4 lbs within a week after. I've done half of asylum (hurt ankle) and am doing t25 now. Insanity is the overall best program. I'm having to do two beta workouts just to feel like I worked…
  • Joe you would've lost more weight if you used the scale. I bring mine everywhere, my wife thinks I'm weird when I ask for 2 plates at nice restaurants just so I can zero out the scale every time I move food over to the new plate. Whatever she's the crazy one, I *know* my intake.
  • Great job Joe!!! Congrats and awesome results!
  • Holy *kitten* you got ripped in 30 days man! Congrats!!!!
  • I finished insanity in mid march and lost 20 lbs (23 lbs as of now). I started Asylum a week ago, it's going to be a grueling month, but well worth it! Insanity is awesome and I will keep going back to it. Anyone doing or have done insanity can friend me - I found it's much easier to stay on task with a support group to…
  • Ok here are my results: I am humbled. The ladder is not my friend. Agility Heisman: 6.5 In and out abs: 24 Lat push ups: 20 Mountain climber switch kicks 56 (my son was counting at the same time and screwed me up +- 5 on those) lol Agility shoulder taps: 3.5 X jumps: 27 Moving push ups: 3 Agility ladder shuffle: 11 Agility…
  • Lmfao that sounds ridiculously hard! I have a cold today, but that won't stop me from getting my fit test in! Nice job!!!
  • Voted again and BUMP!
  • Voted! btw, for those that don't know Joe - he's a real stand up guy and has helped many others with motivation and support on MFP. We should all support him in his time of need!
  • I just want to note if you eat farm raised fish, at least be sure that it was farmed in the US (not China). Tilapia, in particular, is often farmed in poor conditions which ruins their healthy qualities...
  • I'm probably being redundant here (I didn't read the whole thread). I have a one meal where I tend to go out with some friends, grab a couple beers, 6 wings, etc. I *absolutely* log it and I try to eat and drink in moderation. Earlier in the day, I know I'm going to have a bad night for eating, I go super healthy and low…
  • Awesome! I followed your food journal and I saw just how healthy you have been! That was my main pitfall - I ate better than I used to, but with kids - eating healthy all the time became difficult. I still maintained my calorie goal and tried hard... But I could've been better with food. Your results are tremendous,…
  • Friggen great run man - especially considering the conditions!
  • I've followed your "experience" with insanity and I think you did well! You didn't have a lot of weight to lose, so 7 lbs is very respectable. I look at those fit test results and I see improvement! globe jumps are no joke and you did 11 in your 4th fit test. that 8 more jumps in 1 minute. Power jumps saw a huge increase…
  • Oh and most importantly, congratulations on your upcoming marriage! Your wife will be some damn happy when she sees you when you get stateside!
  • King - I've been with you on this journey and I gotta say I never knew you came from 250. I am AMAZED and friggen inspired by your results! For those that don't know, me, joehempel and others have been doing insanity with nking since January. This guy has been nothing but a TOTAL inspiration for us. He's one of the guys…
