  • I just started doing Spartans in August. I did DC Sprint, Wintergreen Super, and the Carolina Beast this past weekend. I learned about Spartan races in July and in the span of 3 months have gotten a trifecta. Thinking about a double trifecta next year, but not sure. In regards to preparing for one, I echo esjones, just go…
  • I just sent you a friend request Monica! I'm Monica too and just got my Trifecta this weekend at the Carolina Beast. I'm still on the high of it all and am thinking of a double trifecta next year. We'll see. I'm hoping to lose these last 55 pounds so that I can be faster and more agile for the Spartan races/distance races…
  • I'm a "fluffy" runner as well. However, you seem to be way ahead of me. I've run 2 5K's, a 4 miler, running an 8K in March, as well as 10 miler. I'm still learning about fueling for runs through my 10-miler training program. It seems it works best if I wake up 1.5-2 hours prior to our long run on saturday to eat a small…

  • I agree with what a lot of people have stated. Get to 150 and then re-evaluate. It's OK to change your mind once your reach your goal. From the sounds of mpf, once we reach our goals we create a new one. Whether it is to maintain, or lose more. You can do this!
  • I'm totally inspired. Another reminder that it's not about the scale but about the way you feel through visuals like your body changes and clothese
  • Oh yea, and feeling my hip bones. Although my butt hurts rather quickly nowadays, it's an amazing feeling to lay in bed and feel my hip bones, collar bones, etc....lol
  • My most recent NSV is running 5 miles in 1 hour. I just started running in June and am so proud of myself!
  • Hey lady! So I'm a social worker too (YAY!) and close to the 100 pound mark. Every since hitting 80 pounds, it's been a struggle to tweak my eating to fit what I need to keep shedding the pounds. 1) I look at my week and decide what I'm gonna do to be sucessful 2) I only focus on every 5-10 pounds. If I don't it get…
  • Congrats!! Keep it up, even when it gets tough ;)
  • I've never been through this, but it seems like a theme I've seen on here. He may be mourning losing the old you and afraid of getting to know the new you. This made me think of my 600 poound journey when she began to lose her weight and her partner began to withdraw and be rude to her. He had a difficult time accpeting it…
  • So I go to gold's gym and I pay $30 for a 30 min session. I see my trainer twice a week. However, to me, it's been worth it. She is super understanding and pushes me past what I think I'm able to do. I can text her whenever. She helps me construct my workout schedule for the week and we tweak it based off anything I'm…
  • http://www.leannebrown.com/cookbooks Download her Good and Cheap cookbook. It's a good place to start!
  • Do not freak out! This has happened to me before. 2 things always account for an enourmous gain (for me): 1) Bloating from my period because I'm retaining water the first couple days 2) Not enough water. When I don't drink enough, I retain a couple pounds of just fluid. Be sure you're drinking enough water and you should…
  • Your story is truly an inspiration! I'm so sorry for all the pain you had to go through to get to a point where you're taking care of you and are much happier. However, you remind us that when the scale is not moving, we have so much to be thankful for. We can be thankful for so many non-scale victories. Keep being an…
  • Kudos to you having it work! 7 lbs down in 3 weeks? I think that's definelty going in the right direction. I'm starting the 21 day fix, FINALLY (I have had it since Apr/May), with my challenge group on September 1st. I came on MPF to see if there were any threads on here about it and had to comment when I saw people on a…
  • I hear you but I didn't feel like the thread was started to push anyone to buy into the program. It was just someone looking to reach out to others who were/are doing the program as well. Of course, we should be able to make friends with somone so we can encourage them to make better choices, but if the person starting the…
  • I kind of don't like how people are supporting but yet mocking you in this thread for doing 21 day fix? I thought the point of MFP is to be able to be a community in which we support one another, in whatever way we choose to lose the weight? The beauty is that you can always find someone in a similar boat as you whether…
  • 1) Remember that we all carry our weight differently. Even on those days the scale doesn't budge, you may still be getting smaller through toning! 2) Always think of the non-scale victories whcih can include, eating healthy all day, completing a workout, fitting into a chair, etc. 3) You want to lose weight slow and steady…
  • Hello everyone! I'm Monica and have a goal to lose 155 lbs. I am about 1 pound from being at 90lbs lost! It's very exciting but I still need to be motivated at times. At that point, I'll be 65 lbs away from my goal. I started at 330 lbs and my goal weight is 175, the smallest I've ever been in my adult years. I can barely…
  • Do not be sad. That's why it's called a lifetsyle change/weight loss journey. It takes a while for us to get the hang of it, just like life does. Look at the bright side: you now know the things that don't work! So have yuor moment today but just know that ff you spend your time beating yourself up, you'll never succeed.…
  • You are awesome! I used to hate to look at myself in the mirror, especially when I wasn't seeing all the changes others were. Every time I shower, I stand naked in the mirror and observe my body for what it is. I'm going to start making a list too! As you get to know your body in it's natural state, you too will begin to…
  • So as someone who started at 330 pounds with a goal to lose 155 lbs, I honestly know how you feel. When I started my journey, it felt like I was losing weight in slow motion. But once I was able to correct my eating, I was more consistent with my 2lbs a week weight loss. 1) Remember that it took YEARS to gain this weight.…
  • I'm definetly going to try these options. My friend is getting on track too and she likes spaghetti squash so I just e-mailed these to her. So excited to try them :)
  • I've lost 80 pounds in 10 months :)
  • You're so beautiful! Love your eyes and hair!
  • I'm to join. I've had my account for years but this is my first time truly using it to motivate me. I have about 125 to lose so I'm all in. I may lose even more when I get to 175, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Nervous about posting a pic but that's OK. I'll get over it in time. Excited to motivate one…
  • A man named Papa Joe weighed 400 pounds. He lost 200 pounds in 18 months by walking 5 miles a day around his neighborhood and changing his diet. You can do it. Don't let others deter you from your goal!
