Wondering if I should rethink my goal

I started my journey weighing 325. I currently weigh 166 and am 5'4. My goal has always been 150 but I am realizing now how large that still is. 150 lbs is where some are starting their journeys, not finishing them.

I am the same height as you ... first I want to congratulate you on losing so much weight! I would love to be where you are already! That being said, I am about "normal" in frame, not large frame but not tiny either. My ultimate goal is 130 -- then if I EVER reach that place, I'll re-evaluate to see if I need to lose any more pounds. Question: How long did it take you to get where you are currently? You are very inspirational to me! :D

I think it depends where you feel comfortable. I started at 164, gained another 4, then started losing. I'm at 153 with a goal of 135. You have come so far and because of that your journey will be totally different than mine, and your idea of what you should weigh will be different as well.
Personally, as long as you're healthy and happy wherever you end up, that's what matters.
    You look great btw!

Congratulations on being so close to your goal. You could always try maintaining at that weight for a while and see how you feel, and then set a new goal if needed.

How do you feel? You're about 15 pounds away, so you'll see a big difference by 150. I'm the same height and am weighing between 139-141 now. I don't see me getting below 135. I was not happy at 150 though either.

Keep going until you hit 150 and then re-evaluate. Keep going until you feel happy and healthy. Your goal is just a number - it doesn't really matter what it is. Life doesn't suddenly stop when you reach it

Awesome job on your progress! You could try to get down to where you feel comfortable & if you feel comfortable that weight then try to eat at maintenance & make some new fitness goals.

My advice is not to worry how much you think you need to lose. Just take each day at a time. You don't have to think ahead so far. Just enjoy your exercise and healthy food and if you want to lose more you will. You obviously had tons of determination to get this far with your weight loss and you have done a fantastic job! You look wonderful! Great picture! You have a whole new life now. (Love those mega Christmas bulbs).

I agree with what a lot of people have stated. Get to 150 and then re-evaluate. It's OK to change your mind once your reach your goal. From the sounds of mpf, once we reach our goals we create a new one. Whether it is to maintain, or lose more. You can do this!

I'm 5'4" tall as well and my original goal was 145 (only 5 pound more than yours). When I got there, I could not believe it! However, I was not quite happy with it either so I started lifting some weights along with my cardio workouts (at 62, I need cardio to make sure I live to ripe old age ) and in the past year I hit 135. I feel much better both in looks and health wise so now I am losing about 5 more so I can range between 130and 135. The point here is that like many have said, you will know when you get to 150 what you want to do. You may look and feel great and want to maintain there, or you may think, meh, not quite right yet. I can promise though, with the success you have had so far, you will know. Good Luck!

I have re-evaluated my goal several times. I am 5'9" and my initial goal was 160 (from 245), currently at 155 with yet another adjusted goal between 135-145. As I have been losing weight and gaining definition, I realize that I am quite small boned and will probably be fine at the lower end. Most people that I have seen here - especially those with 100+ weight loss goals, tend to re-adjust as they go along.

Same height. I remember being about 150 in middle/high school and being really pudgy. I also remember being H.O.T. at 125 by the time I graduated, so maybe that was mostly just being a teenager. It depends on a lot of factors. Unlike all the other obese people in the world, I am pretty small boned, but I carry muscle very well and don't think the low end of a healthy BMI would suit me at all. Since I am no longer 18, I am aiming for 135-145, depending on when you ask me. In all honesty, I am just aiming to sustain a healthier lifestyle, and I will see how the scale works out a year or so from now when I am somewhere near those numbers.

The important thing is that you find a weight you are comfortable with and can maintain with relative ease. You have come so far, you seem to have worked out a system that works for you and you should "know it when you see it."
