"you're an obese person stuck in a slender body" [/quote] I love this comment - this is my husband and his entire family! They eat and drink whatever they want and yet always looks slim. My Mom and I consume half of what they do yet we have always struggled with our weight. This is very frustrating, but i have just decided…

Thanks everyone, some yummy options. I have a salt-free greek seasoning that I use on almost everything, but the rest of the family is getting tired of it, so we are all looking forward to trying these

We are cooking pork chops on the BBQ. We are getting little bored with dry rubs, but I will take suggestions for those too!

I never thought about this until I bought a pair of skinny lavender jeans this spring. I bought them in a brand and size I wore last summer so I didn't bother trying them on in the store. When I got home I realized they were too small because of the weight I put on over the fall and winter. I love the jeans and was really…

Congratulations! I mix Molson Sublime (its a low cal lime flavoured beer in Canada -there is probably something similar in other countries) with a couple of ounces of Skinny Girl Margarita and serve with lime wedges and ice. Its very refreshing and low calorie I mix half a bottle of beer with 1.5 ounces of the margarita.…

I am in too! Definitely in need of some motivation. I am 5'3 and last year from March-July I lost 18 lbs and now sadly have gained 11 of those pounds back. It was a stressful summer and fall for our family and I used that as an excuse to slack off. In the back of my mind I knew I was gaining the weight back, but I just…

Thanks for the advice and motivation. It was interesting hearing that other people found summer dieting challenging. I had originally thought that summer, with all the fresh fruit and veggies would be easy, but I hadn't anticipated the temptation of bbq's, hotdogs and beer. I have started counting calories again today for…

I started counting calories in March, lost 18 lbs and then hit a summer wall of bbq's, lime beer and white wine spritzers. I haven't gained any weight for the last 2 months, but haven't lost any either. I am finding it very difficult to get back on the wagon and start tracking my food again even though I have another 15…

We eat salmon about once a week. Our new favourite recipe is steaming/poaching salmon in a bloody mary sauce: vodka, horseradish, worcester sauce, clamato juice ( I use low sodium garden cocktail), celery and olive oil. Its super fast and is only 350 calories per serving.

I should clarify that my goal weight on my ticker is set at reaching 145 which is my first goal. My ultimate goal is 125, but I was worried I would find that weight loss too large and abstract to be motivating. By the way, how do you add "start weight, current weight etc etc" under your ticker?

I am 5'3" and my goal weight is 125. But to be honest its been years (gulp, decades) since I have been at that weight, so I am not sure how I will feel or look when I get close to that size.

What a timely topic! I was about to post asking for help as well! I had a stomach bug last week and hardly ate anything for 3 days. I recovered and became ravenous just in time for the spending the Easter weekend with family and lots of junk food, rich food and wine. I haven't tracked my food for almost a week and I hate…

Made this for my hubbie and I last night and we both loved it. I added veggies and was out of soy sauce so used worcestershire sauce instead.

I weigh myself most mornings and post losses. Personally, I get more positive motivation than negative discouragement, even if there are fluctuations. I found it frustrating to only weigh once a week, because the odd time my weigh-in day was also the day my weight went up because of water retention or some indulgences the…

One of my shocks was serving sizes for breakfast cereals. I was eating double the serving size. Now I try to have a smaller portion and add berries or bran buds to make it more filling. Other shocks were Tim Horton's bagels, raisins and cheese and crackers. I was consuming hundreds of calories snacking on cheese and…
