When I started doing yoga, my wrists hurt terribly. For me, it was a combination of working at a computer all day and putting weight on my wrists (which I hadn't done before). It went away as I strengthened my arms, as well as improved my yoga poses. My pain didn't last that long, though. I'd probably have my doctor…

My suggestions--find an exercise that you can and will do--walking/biking/Pilates or yoga on YouTube/etc. Skip the simple carbs, such as bread and pasta, and go for more raw veggies. I hated the raw veggies part at first, but a cut up head of cabbage is cheap & very filling. I also stick with proteins that more economical,…

That is tough. When I haven't had the support that I needed, I spend a lot of time reading the MFP message boards. I also do my best to find people who are supportive, whether it's someone else working out at the gym or friends from church or work. I've also learned to distance myself from people who actively sabotage me…

Way to go!! That is so awesome!

Woo hoo!! Good for you for coming back!! My plan to eat healthy and exercise has been derailed a bit by my depression and anxiety, too. As much as I wouldn't wish this on anyone, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one dealing with it.

My motto is, "Tomorrow is always a do-over day." I'm managed to lose the weight & keep it off, but there have been ups and downs all along. Try not to let a frustrating meal or day or week or whatever derail your progress!

Way to go! Keep up the good work.

Congratulations on your decision to be healthy. I 've struggled with disordered eating since middle school, too (which was a very long time ago), and it continues to be challenging at times. My biggest success in getting healthier--with eating and exercise--has been when I started logging everything on MFP. I am able to…

What are your workouts like? Mostly strength or cardio or blend of both? If you're gaining muscle, it could mess with the numbers on the scale. Do your clothes feel like they fit differently, or are workouts seeming easier? Monitor your measurements, as well as the scale, because you might be getting smaller without…

I always say that tomorrow is a do-over day. You can get back on track! Life is stressful (and will continue to be at times) so this is the point where you decide if you'll have this be a 5 pound setback or more. As much as I try to avoid stress, sometimes it's better for me to focus on that…

Nice!

I didn't start losing weight until I honestly tracked my food in MFP (even "just a taste" foods since 1 chip here and 1 brownie bite there all adds up). I also try not to eat back my calories when I work out. Good luck!

I use my food scale for better accuracy.

Thanks, everyone!

Good luck! You can do it!

Love this!! I am almost to my goal after a year--and I much prefer the temporary aches & pains of running a 5K over the aches & pains that I felt walking up the stairs. Good luck! You can do it!! My favorite work out quote is, "It doesn't get easier; you get better."

This post made me laugh because I never met anyone who loved running (the informal name of our running group is "Running is Stupid"). Thank you for sharing your passion! I run for exercise, and I really hope that it gets to be an activity that I enjoy. It's nice to know that it's possible!

I found that high intensity cardio got easier the more that I did it. It's one of my favorite exercises now. I also run, although I can't say that it's fun. Both have been very helpful with my weight loss. I noticed small improvements over weeks/months, instead of "one day it sucked, and the next day it was great." Good…

Nope--I'm not perfect & I'm going to slip up. Yesterday was Jimmy John's & McDonalds, today is fresh vegetables, lean protein, and complex carbs. I've been more successful with losing weight and getting healthier now that I'm not super strict and don't give up!!

Thanks for the encouragement! Congratulations on your success.

Just keep going! The first day that I worked out in a gym (9 years ago), I barely lasted 10 minutes on an elliptical. It's so much a part of my routine now that I miss it if I don't go. Good luck!
