no, no uti. or anything. I thought I made it pretty clear that I'm HEALTHY and aware of my body. It's ketones, 100% sure of it. I just want to know if 50% fat macros are enough to bump me into ketogenesis, since most people go, like, 90%.

/he says to a chemist, lol I would rather not send a picture. But, there's oil floating around in my pee. If it's not ketones, what, pray tell, would they be?

/facepalm

You would be amazed at the kind of things people post... -.-'

Hey, thanks for some constructive input. I'm at 1550 kcal/day give or take, with those macros I posted. I eat no grains, but healthy starches like sweet potatoes and root vegetables. Not much fruit, but I don't avoid it. I make sure to load up on glycogen after workouts (like sweet potato stew or arugula potato soup) to…

Oh man, yall are bad. Ketones are visible oil bodies in the urine. You don't need to test for something you can see. But go ahead and take that pregnancy test for funsies.

Thanks, that's a great idea. Meal planning and tiny goal always seems pointless (with the larger, long-term goals in mind) so I will give that a try. I'll probably be more satisfied if I set little goals anyway :)

I'm a healthy person: no diseases or chronic illness. I would just like to look how I feel. I feel strong both muscularly and endurance. It's just hard to remember that when I look in the mirror..

Okay I'll check out a fat%!
-
I think I'm above the healthy range. I mean honestly, I could stand to lose about 30 pounds.

Hi Sally! I'm 25 and a super senior so I understand the time constraints of college! Started 2 weeks ago, looking for slow but sustainable weghtloss as well. Let's be friends!
-
Great post, thank you! I struggled with extreme dieting in high school, and kept myself at below 800 calories for about 2 years. Good to know that I didn't entirely screw myself over! Cheers!

That's the thing that is hard for me to remember - 5 years of weight won't come off in five months. At least not in a healthy way.

I have some measurements going, and I do plan on heavy lifting once I get about half of my fat off. I want to be strong, and healthy, and look awesome naked. Not just skinny, I look at pictures of when I was skinny and all I see is a sickly hungry girl. My obsession and impatience shows that I still have those tendencies…

Thanks! I'm hoping that the weight that comes of quick will be inspiration for hitting it harder at the gym. I'll be starting heavy lifting here in a few weeks after I adjust to the increased cardio lately.
-
I honestly don't have a problem keeping up the deficit, I tend to make it too big though. I get a little obsessive once I start. Anyway, 1-2 pounds per week would be the best for me, I know. I used to be 135 in high school (though I suffered from anorexia/bulemia) so being this heavy is already frustrating, let alone how…

I know I need to take it slow, but it feels like I'll take FOREVER to "get there", but I do know that if I don't do it right, I'll yo-yo. I've yo-yo-ed 20 pounds a few times now and it's super frustrating. Thanks for the support ladies!

Buy yourself something nice! Pamper yourself! Take yourself on a trip!

Ideally, to lose weight the healthy way, we should include healthy fats (avocado, fatty fish, walnuts, chia seeds, coconut) high quality protein like turkey, fish, venison, rabbit... and healthy carbs that help keep you full and give your body the energy it needs during weight loss like green leafy veggies, colourful fruit…
-
It makes a HUGE difference. You can "live' on just candy, but you're not going to be healthy and you'll be hungry all the time and not get nutrients that assist in the processes in the body that contribute to weight loss!
-
Eating under 1200, AND working out can really hurt your body! She's right - healthy fats are super important - every cell in your body has a fatty cell membrane and your BRAIN is mostly fatty acids!
-
YAY! Thanks guys! I'm excited about this because I've been Paleo-esque for YEARS but I still have a few cheat items that I just absolutely love! You guys are gonna help me stay accountable! =)
-
WOW! Awesome success stories guys! It's good to see others who are on the journey, too!
-
Did you have trouble adjusting to this ratio at first or did you gradually get here?
-
Thanks for the input guys! I see that for lean muscle/fat loss in these comments, people are reducing their carbs and increasing their proteins and fats. I have mine currently set for 30/40/30 c/f/p but I've only been tracking a short while and haven't started weight lifting yet so I'm not seeing a ton or results yet. I've…

The first two. I want to know how much % of each everyone is eating, and why, and how it's working for them!
-
Absolutely not. Your BMR is what keeps you ALIVE and WELL. If you eat under that, your body will go into starvation mode and drop metabolism, your health will decline as your immune system is cut to save energy, you'll become fatigued as brain function slows to save energy... bad stuff.
-
pectin, that's why.
-
Well yes, I get that. that's what I do. I'm wondering if anyone else is doing that, and how it works for them.
