You might want to rent "Supersize Me" and have your daughter watch it. A man goes on a McDonalds only diet for 30 days and almost completely ruins his health.

Much, thanks! I'm so hard on myself sometimes.
-
pamelawh- why do I drink wine? How many hours are you willling to commit to giving me therapy? I'm teasing, but really, we need to be careful not to judge each other.

Thanks you guys, I feel better. Yes, I'll drink lots of water and NO alcohol for a week.

I was doing great all day on my food intake and exercise. Then, like an idiot I drank three huge glasses of wine. Not only did I exceed my calories but I have a hangover. Why do I sabotoge myself this way?

The longer I'm on this site, the more foods I see listed. Thanks to everyone who enters in new foods. I, for one, really appreciate it!
-
OH Hooray!! I'm so happy for you!! You should be really proud of everything you've done!

I'm not educated on what foods make you feel full, so bear with me if this seems obvious. Yesterday I had Special K cereal with skim milk for breakfast, and vegetable noodle soup with tofu for lunch. By 2pm I was so ravenous I thought I'd chew my eraser off my pencil! Today, I had a hard boiled egg for breakfast, and for…

Any tips on how to prepare for the inevitable parties and dinners?

I thought of another one: I'm getting my period soon, and I can't stop the cravings

Boy I can be pathetic sometimes with my excuses! Here are a few I feel a cold coming on so I shouldn't over exert I don't want to hurt my friend's feelings by not eating more pie I've had a tough day, so I deserve another glass of wine A lot of people are much bigger than me, so maybe I'm not so fat afterall I'm sure it…

katie- I can relate to your post. I work remote for a major company in sales. When I travel, which is about one week every six weeks, it's often about entertaining clients, going to receptions, dinners, etc. Alcohol is always free flowing, so I have to use extra diligence. I usually have one drink, then I switch to just…

Good luck!! Old habits are hard to break...especially when it comes to alcohol.

I've decided to not drink wine at all at least two nights a week. I know the 2 glasses I've been having are slowing me down. Not only are they empty calories, but I've read alcohol slows the metabolism. I'd like to be able to say no alcohol at all, but I don't want to set myself up to fail. Two nights a week I know I can…

Wine and cheese. With wine, I just limit myself to no more than 1-2 glasses a day. For the cheese, I buy low fat mozerella cheese sticks and have one as a snack in the afternoon.

sexy lingerie I'll be proud to wear in front of my sweetie

I work remote for a company, so aside from occassional travel, I'm in my home office. This presents a lot of challenges with having the kitchen so close by. Does anyone else deal with this, and what tips do you have?
-
Cleo- can you postpone dinner a bit later or is that when your family eats? I try to delay lunch as late as possible because of my afternoon cravings. It helps
-
I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I love salty things and cheese. I usually have one low fat string cheese or pretzels.
-
I work from home, and the hardest part of the day for me- foodwise- is late afternoon. I don't eat a lot at breakfast, and I rarely eat after dinner, but right about 3:00 all I want to do is munch! Ugh

Fresca! Diet and tastes like grapefruit!

I agree. I am making sure my daughters both have healthy eating habits and body images. Lucky for them they both got their Dad's "thin" genes!
-
melissac- I'm glad you posted. I was a competitive gymnast beginning at age 11 through 18. I have been obsessed with my weight my entire life because of it. When it gets ingrained early in life, it's hard to change the thought patterns.
-
Um, at 17 you might actually still be growing. Don't get too obsessed with it- that's how eating disorders start.

I'm still not at the point of letting my hubby see me nekid, but I'm getting closer!

is remarketedly a word? Oh well, add that I love how good I am at making up words!

Don't hold back! I am funny, well- read, organized, have a great sense of humor, compassionate, smart, and am remarketedly good at parallel parking. And, you...?
