  • Absolutely! I'll be happy to lend support. I had pre-e but wasn't diagnosed (didn't develop it) until almost 2 weeks before my due date. Everything turned out okay, but our son is an only child due to other complications. You've done brilliantly with your weight loss so far! I'm very impressed! Keep going! If you want to…
  • Yeah, I'd love it if my thighs stopped touching, but I'm not holding my breath ;)
  • Thank you both so much for the advice :) I had half of a grilled vegetable pita and lots of water. I ran about 2 hours after eating and only got a mile before my body said, "Nope. Not today." I found it hard to breathe, I'm not sure if it was because I'm used to working out first thing in the morning. But, I hopped on the…
  • I'm new to running, but I'll give it a shot!
  • Seriously, can anyone help me with this? I'd really appreciate the advice!
  • I only eat some of them back. I try to eat about 1400 or so calories. If I eat 1700 or more, I will not lose weight. Everyone's body is different; it's trial and error to see what works best for you.
  • I set my alarm for 5:30 or 6 am (depending on the day) and eat 1/2 a Think Thin protein bar as soon as I turn my alarm off. This gives me a bit of energy and prevents me from hitting the snooze bar (which I've always been a slave to until I started doing this). I get up, get ready and GO to the gym, and hit the treadmill.…
  • I eat two breakfasts (My diary is viewable, you can see it if you like). When my alarm goes off at 5:30 or 6:00 am, I eat 1/2 of a Think Thin protein bar (115 calories) while still in bed - I keep it in a baggie on mt bedside table. There are two reasons for this: 1) It prevents me from hitting the snooze bar and actually…
  • I like steamed veggies with either chicken, beef or tofu. Sauce on the side (dip the tip of your fork into the sauce before picking up the food). If they have brown rice (some at least have that option), get that and stick to either 1/3 of a cup or 2/3 of a cup. Yummy, AND good for you!
  • Hey, wow! Look at you! You look great! Way to go! Isn't it amazing when you can see the results of eating healthier and exercising?! Keep it up! Great job!! :D
  • Oh great - just bought my Timex and have used it for two days - I thought the calorie burn was rather high...
  • This thread has been helpful. I usually work out early in the morning before I eat anything. I've tried eating prior to exercise (anything from a hard boiled egg, a protein bar, banana with almond butter...) and I couldn't tell the difference in how I felt or how my body performed. I've run 5.5 miles on an empty stomach…
  • I try to mix it up, but here's one you can play with as far as ingredients go (and what you have on hand): 1/2 cup cooked brown rice or cooked quinoa 1/2 cup frozen peas 1/2 cup raw quartered grape or cherry tomatoes 2 chopped peppadew peppers (I love these like mad, but you can include what you like). 2 oz diced cooked…

  • I would love the pamphlet when you get a chance!! My e-mail address is elyssiamathias@yahoo.com. Thank you!!!!
  • I have the same issue. If I burn 500 calories, I try to only eat 200 - 300 of the exercise calories - not all the ones I've "earned." If I follow this, then I notice I lose weight, although it's only about a pound a week.
  • I use this "diet" as a guideline for myself and my family. I'm an O, my husband and son are As. I try to make as many highly beneficial foods as possible and avoid all the ... avoid foods. There are somethings I give in to (cinnamon, chocolate, red wine, oranges), but I really do limit them as much as possible. Okay, well,…
  • Best: My almond milk/protein/berry shake for breakfast - or - plain Greek yogurt with nuts, berries and cocoa for lunch Worst: 1/4 slice of gluten free chocolate cake for after lunch!
  • 1 cup unsweetened Silk almond milk 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries 1/4 cup quick or old fashioned oats (UNcooked) 1 scoop EAS vanilla 100% whey protein powder 1 tbsp Hershey's unsweetened dark cocoa powder BLEND! (I have a magic bullet and do it in that, but blender works fine). It's 299 calories and so delicious I drink it…
  • With all this oatmeal discussion I made savory oatmeal for dinner! 1/2 cup oats 3/4 cup water 1 tsp spinach/herb seasoning 3/4 oz goat cheese 1/4 cup peas 1/2 cup shredded carrots 2 diced peppadew peppers SO good! :d
  • Be patient, it takes a while to get there! I remember when I couldn't run a whole mile; I ran 5.5 miles this morning on the treadmill and it felt great! I hate interval running, but everyone is right - that will get you into great shape! That's why I go to boot camp class 3 days a week: that's the only way I'll push…
  • Broccoli sugar snap peas (good for snacking) red peppadew peppers (they're very small and I stuff them with creamy goat cheese), one of my favorite snacks! Plums frozen mixed berries for smoothies Hershey's unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder Fage fat free plain yogurt honey lots of herbal tea (no calories, and warm…
  • Dark Hershey's kisses are 20 calories each, 2g of sugar. I like the dark chocolate sugar free jell-o pudding (which I find more satisfying than the lighter, more airy mousse, and it has more calcium).
  • High fructose corn syrup!!! Stay away from that crap - your body doesn't really know how to process it. Everything else use common sense. Some people had some great comments! (Human waste?! OMG!!!) As far as fair foods go, Deep Fried Oreos are amazing, but not as high in calories as you'd think (80). Still, I'd limit it to…
  • Another way to include oats in your diet without tasting them is to blend a 1/4 cup into your smoothie. My recipe: 1 cup unsweetened almond milk: 35 cal 1/4 cup rolled or regular oats: 75 cal 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries: 40 cal 1 scoop vanilla EAS 100% whey protein powder: 130 1 tbsp Hershey's dark unsweetened cocoa…
  • Beans! Get a good recipe for black beans and (brown) rice. My husband makes it (won't tell me what's in it so I have to ask him to make it ;) and it's incredible delicious. I know he combines a can of goya black beans AND a can of goya black bean soup, with sauteed garlic and chopped jarred jalapenos. It's SO good. Also,…

  • 6 oz of fat free plain Greek yogurt (high in protein), like Fage: 90 calories 1 tbsp dark unsweetened cocoa powder: 10 calories 1 tsp honey or agave nectar (or other sweetener): 16 calories 1 tbsp chopped toasted walnuts: 48 calories. = 164 calories. Filling and yummy. I've nearly burned the nuts (re: the cooking thing),…
  • Oatmeal is incredibly flexible, and the additive variations are nearly endless! I start with quick oats (not instant) - 1/2 cup, with 1 cup unsweeted almond milk (you can also mix and match here: 1/2 cup any type of milk, 1/2 cup water, etc.) For sweet, I like to add 1/2 cup raspberries/ or blueberries/ or chopped…
  • Broccoli. I boil water, then put the cleaned/cut broccoli in for 3 minutes. Drain, place in bowl with a little Earth Balance butter. Or Mrs. Dash. Or any seasoning you like! Asparagus is great brushed with a little olive oil, sprinkled with S/P or other seasoning, then grilled. Even my 5 year old loves it!
  • I was going to suggest a cheese/red bell pepper quiche (or a fritatta) but the lasagna sounds great!!
  • I like mine with a little Italian salad dressing, or some aged balsamic vinegar. Mrs. Dash, seasoned salt... The possibilities are endless!
