Ok thank you all for your encouragement. I guess I just had to hear that I am doing this right. I will try and increase my water intake, that is one area that is always low for me... For some reason I just don't drink that much. Also, I am glad to hear that I should just keep working out, even though right now the numbers…

Yes, Actually I do this every sunday when I weigh in. Thank you though, I know that could make a huge difference if that wasn't being updated. :)

Bump... I have never had any veriation of this.... but I really want to try it now. Thanks!

Mmmmmmm Bump!

I like the can idea. My wife and I did the 30 day shred and our kids (3, 5, 7) did it too. We used the cans first to show them that they can be used and weights. Then we had them pick out their own cans. :) The youngest had the tomato paste :) It was super cute!

At most gyms there is always a Gym orientation where they show you how to use the machines. We joined the YMCA, and they showed us how to used all the weight machines, and how to set them correctly, then asked if there were any other machines or work outs we had questions with. And then there is always someone working in…

I wasn't saying that you were using excuses. I am sorry if it came accross like that. I just meant, for me at least, it is easier to say, "I am sick, so I can eat what ever I want" instead of staying below my calorie limit. I was not at all insisting that you work your butt off if you are in pain. I have heard that with…

I think the biggest thing is to stop letting those reasons become excuses. I don't know the extent of your medical issues, but even if you are sick (kidney infection) you can still stay under your calorie limit. And as far as the nerve issue... there are stretches you can do to help with that (I had that issue when I was…

I used to have that inner voice... But it is much quieter now. I think you have to be READY to lose weight in order for those voices to go away. Since I started working out, I no longer want to eat unhealthy foods. They make me feel sick, and also it ruins the hard work that I put in at the gym. So whenever I get an urge…

I think a HRM would be great for you. I just got a Polar FT7 about a week ago. It has a chest strap, and I think that is is the only way to go. The chest strap goes just under your bra line if you are a girl or under the pecks if you are male. And it picks up your heart rate from there, and sends it to the watch…

Ok great!!! Cuz that is what I have been doing.... but today it just got me wondering. I mean... my fat burn zone is like 120... and I was up in the 150-180s.... I just wanted to make sure I am doing good for my body and weight loss.
-
Yay!! I am in... :)
-
So... I am still confused. Cuz if you hold the sensors on the machine, it finds your heart rate... and the heart rate monitor finds your heart rate....So they shoud be the same right? What makes you think they sync together?I am sorry for the dumb questions, I am just confused.
-
What does this mean? When you guys say the HR monitor "syncs" with the machine... What exactly does it do? I just bought a polar FT7 yesterday... I used it at the gym yesterday too but I don't know what you are talking about. lol Help a newbie out.... Please :)

You should weigh your steak after it is cooked and cut up.... You want to log the weight of the meat that you are actually going to consume. Does that help?

Hi There, I took a look at your food/exercise diary. I am new to this too, but I have a few tips for you that might help you over this hump. I see that you don't eat your exercise calories back, now I am not one who thinks you should eat them all back... But What I think works best is to Zig Zag. So maybe eat them back one…

This is pretty messed up... we aren't trying to turn people gay... we just like to feel the support from all angles.

Why do you say that?? What does that even mean??
-

Thank you all so much for your advice and tips!! I went ahead and ate some strawberries and some fresh pineapple. It doesn't help too much with the calories, but it just sounded good. :) I am new to all of this, so I have never been in this situation before. I will know from now on, that I need to eat more calories from…

Thank you all!!! We are both so excited to continue this life style. I am totally not thinking of this as a diet. It is for sure, something we are going to live by. I feel so much better just by eating more fresh fruits and veggies. And it is amazing how much of them you can eat for so little calories! I never knew!! And…

Bump... Saving so I can look back at all of these tips. You guys are great!!
-
Bump! Sounds yummy!!

You need to get the chest strap wet so that it sticks to your skin better. If it is dry, it can slip around more. I have tried it both ways, and I can feel the difference when I am working out. So basically, you get it wet so it can get a more accurate reading of your heart rate. And yes you can put it on ahead of time.…
