  • Agree 100%...it's all about the calories. This MFP has been goooood to me!
  • Try Party Pinwheels on Allrecipes.com. Also, Fiesta Pinwheels recipe on Tasteofhome.com. I made them for a party and they were a hit. You can add your own variations.
  • I doctor my salad up with some additions such as purple onion, red bell pepper, shredded carrots, cucumber, feta cheese, cranberries, toasted pecans, olives, mandarin oranges, etc. Use a good balsamic vinegar and ground pepper to top it off.
  • My favorite "secret" ingredient is epazote. If you have a Mexican market nearby, they will probably have it. I use it in my pinto beans, cooked eggs, and quesadillas. It is easy to grow (I ordered seeds from California and grew it in SW Virginia). Following is a link to an article about it.…
  • My usual breakfast is: 1/2 cup Kellogg's Special K - Cinnamon/Pecan (73 cal) 6 oz Dannon nonfat vanilla yogurt (80 cal) 1/4 cup frozen blueberries (20 cal) ... for a total of 173 cal. Add a fresh peach for additional 61 cal and you still have room for another snack. P.S. try this, it's kinda like having a dessert.…
  • You Know You're From Texas When: You see more Texan flags than American Flags. You know someone who ate the 72 oz Steak and got it for free. You attend a formal event in your best clothes, your finest jewelry, and your Cowboy Boots. You can write a check at Dairy Queen for 2 Hungr-Busters and fries. You prefer Whataburger…
  • 176 cal in 2 slices Hovis Wholemeal bread (medium slice), 110 in one oz aged cheddar, 51 in 1/2 Tblsn butter. 337 total. :drinker:
  • Get rid of olive oil and use BUTTER. Nutrition and taste beats out a few calories.
  • If part of a meal, I generally use 1/2 cup or 100 grams as a serving size.
  • I think I like just about everything mentioned that they hate...but I can't stand LIVER....makes me want to puke thinking about it...calf liver, chicken livers, etc. I'll eat gizzards, potted meat, but not liver.
  • Lou-Ann Coconut oil is good up to 350 F for moderate frying temps. For higher temps, I use Chosen Foods 100% Pure Avocado oil which is good to 500 F. I find it at Costco for best price. I prefer to use it in salad dressings over EVO. By the way....no margarine in my house...it's BUTTER., again, just use in moderation.
  • Healthy in moderation. Can use to cook at high temps without creating trans fats. I also use avocado oil instead of olive oil to cook with, and in salads.
  • Try a turkey breast and mozzarella (one oz each) roll-up in low carb flour tortilla with Dijon mustard.
  • Try making chalupas instead of tacos. Buy some white corn tortillas and fry your own tostados in oil. These will be flat and easy to measure refried beans, taco meat, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese and salsa toppings. Very easy to make (except for a little extra grease splatter at the stove.)
  • One of our family favorites..... Stewed Squash with Tomatoes and Okra Ingredients: • 1 tablespoon olive oil • 1 small onion julienned • ½ of a bell pepper diced • 1 clove of garlic minced • 1 tablespoon butter • 3 small yellow squash sliced ¼” thick • Cajun seasoning (or other favorite spices) • 1 each 15 oz can fire…
