Like firecute18 said, you're in the right place! Just counting calories is a big help for me personally, even on a cheat day. Good luck, and hang in there :)

There's a lot of good advice here, but I'll put my two cents in anyway. Although cold turkey is probably wiser, I love my indulgences and have never wanted to completely give them up. (For me, it's pizza and pasta.) My solution has been to have a cheat day once a week if I've made my goal weight loss (1lb/week.) And on…

It took me a bit to remember where to find that, so you're no noob, it's just buried. Go to My Home, then Goals. Hit the "Change Goals" button, and then select the "Custom" option if you want to manually set your calorie level. Keep it healthy! ;)

That's awesome--and what wonderful progress as well!

Fantastic work!! :D

Mini candy bars instead?

Definitely a victory! Congrats!

HRM! Sadly, MFP tends to be too generous.

I use Muscle Tech's chocolate flavor whey protein powder--I buy it at Sam's Club. It's not bad, with milk!

If you were a woman of about 5'2", your intake would be perfect. As it is, you're going to kill your metabolism. The weight is coming off now, but it won't forever, and you'll have more trouble than ever getting it off. Do this healthy, do this long-term. Keep it realistic. Painful to do, I'm betting, but much better in…

That's awesome, congrats! XD

I use Fitocracy.com, which gives you points for doing exercise and you 'level up' like in a video game. Competing with my sister and the people there gets me moving!

Go to your doctor--after repeated use of laxatives and stool softeners, you need proper medical advice. Your body learns to need them with prolonged use.

About 125lbs, I think--I plan on being fairly muscular. :D

Wear the 16s and a belt, I say.

The latest research shows that it's a myth. The misinformation is still going around because a lot of people haven't heard differently or don't change their minds easily, even in the face of science. ;)

*hug!* You've lost an incredible amount of weight, and I promise you didn't gain it all back. Don't let keep you down! One binge does not diminish all you have accomplished; it just means you're human, to stumble once in a while. One binge in many moons is not bad at all! <3

Congrats!! Run on! XD

Rock on! I love your response. Probably for the best you didn't hit her, though, however deserving she was. ;)

It doesn't look like you've been eating enough anyway, imho. Don't go too extreme--take care of yourself.

Like others have said, New Rules of Lifting for Women. It's been great! Even if you don't follow their plan exactly, it has great instructions to get you started on things like barbell lifts.

I love using cottage cheese, since you get all that great dairy goodness, too. I also use whey protein powder when I really want to up my protein intake without much of the other macronutrients.

I'll drink after a work-out, either as soon as I get home or a couple hours later at my usual snack time. I like to mix my (chocolate-flavored) powder with milk.

My only credentials here are that I'm a nearly-graduated nursing student. That said, metabolism is an exothermic process--it produces heat. If anything, you'll slow it down by overheating yourself. Now, on the other hand, being cold DOES encourage your metabolism to bump it up in order to maintain your body temperature.…

Congratulations on escaping the "obese" class! That's wonderful! Someday I hope to join you. ;) Whether they realize it or not, it sounds like those people are threatened by your positive changes. The more you improve yourself, the more they are reminded they need similar improvement. Change is scary, but that's no reason…

Sounds like a normal exercise rate to me! Use an online calculator to find the max heart rate for your age/gender/etc. If you had a history of cardiac issues or you were feeling chest pain/arm pain/extreme fatigue, then I would be more concerned.

I'm so sorry! IMO, vent to us as often as you need. Few things are as stressful as an ill child. Hang in there and take care of yourself as best as you can.

You'll kill your metabolism if you go too low on calories.

I would recommend easing off to a 1lb a week loss. It's harder to lose weight the closer you are to goal. Easing your body into it with a slightly higher cal level might be the trick you need.

If you're under your basal metabolism, it doesn't matter when you eat, you'll burn the fat.
