A fried chicken thigh with skin is around 250 calories, depending on weight. So 2 thighs and a pile of steamed veggies is a 550ish calorie meal. Wow

Tried to edit, wouldn't let me...obviously no rice w paella and ask for only lower carb veg in roasted veg.

But did Mom order you each an entire large pizza plus sides? Calorically pizza isn't too terrible depending on thickness of crust, topping and amount of cheese. Very easy to work a couple slices of it in.

An entire large pizza AND sides? Yeah, I guess if it fits in your macros/calories for week is the party line around here, but seriously? I'm almost 300 lbs and can't even imagine eating such an enormous amount of food. I definitely don't mean to come across as judgemental as we're all here striving to lose weight and…

One way to easily up your protein is to add Greek yogurt to your protein shakes. I blend ice, yogurt and protein powder, OMG delicious milkshake packed w protein. Depending if I'm looking to add carbs or fat, I'll also add berries, a banana, either real PB or powdered PB. A choc, PB banana shake...heavenly! Protein shakes…
NEVER seen a hotel room with a microwave. A mini bar sometimes, depending on the room standard.
Any of the "extended suites" and the ilk will have a microwave. It is becoming more common. But a higher end hotel won't likely have a microwave, but at the super high end if you want a Vitamix they'll make sure…

Traveling for business can be very different depending on what you're doing. Are you making sales calls and entertaining clients? Going to a client/other location for a week/month, etc? Attending a conference or training? Do you have a per diem or can you spend freely? Changing hotels every night or 2 or staying in the…

Ok, not to be a stickler but you may want to consider reusable containers. That is a lot of plastic waste, and in the long run you'll save lots of $$$. Amazon has a great selection. Just something to think about...

Go to hangover foods, McD's sausage, egg and cheese mcgriddle, Big Mac, chicken sw with extra pickles Big ol' greasy chinese order Cuban bread breakfast sw (sausage, egg & extra cheese, even better w MAYO) with fried plantains and croquettas (Cuban bread, so caloric, it's hard to conceive of that little piece of bread can…

Well good for you! I think too many hungover junk food days got me into this condition, lol!! It's great when you can make it work, still feels somewhat like cheating to me. I definitely need to work on that mindset. But it really is about consistently making better choices that fit in your daily calories. I'm working on…
Second reference to Cowboy Sushi I've read in last 24 hours, must try!!!

You aren't alone. I like to have cooked chicken in the fridge to grab some if I suddenly get hungry. So satisfying! In fact my husband made fun of me last week, we had friends in town and were going out so I told hubby I needed to plan so I could make healthy choices. He asked me if I wanted him to stuff some chicken in…

I do a spice blend, heavy on chili powder, but I find a big squeeze of tomato paste (I buy tubes, so convenient!) Really makes it taste like the package. It's probably 1.5 Tbsp of the paste. In fact, a few days ago I was out of tomato paste, used a bit of salsa as a substitute and it definitely was not as good.

They have this almost meaty flavor, they are so incredibly delicious. I just add salt. Be warned, you may need to apply for a second mortgage to buy them, super expensive. $8 for the two yams, I can't remember weight. But I spend so much less overall that I'm buying whatever I enjoy at the supermarket, when normally if be…

Knowing how much work it takes, it definitely took me awhile to stop being so slothful and finally have my 10,000,000,000th enough is enough moment and start taking care of myself again. It was fun eating and drinking, etc. But then as I got bigger and bigger, I realized I *had* to make healthy changes. I know how great it…

I've been roasting a vast quantity of veggies every Sunday. This week's was brussel sprouts, fennel garlic, onions, asparagus and cherry tomatoes. Roasted 2 purple yams...(OMG LOVE LOVE PURPLE YAMS!) paired with chicken. I also often do chx soup with tons of veggies and beans. I did a cold quinoa salad w chx, veggies and…

I'm 43 female, 5"6' and weigh 300lbs. Graduated HS at 180, gained a bit in college then at 25 dropped to 150 by eating super healthy and being very active. Did triathlons, lifted weights, ran, did tons of recreational super duper active things. Maintained loss for 7-8 years and slowly began gaining as healthy habits…

I eat large amounts of cooked cabbage with lean protein and healthy fats. Change it up a bit to make flavors different. Head of Cabbage chopped, simmered w onions, garlic, 28 ox can crushed tomatoes, mint, red pepper flakes, evoo, s&p. Served w beef patty it reminds me of stuffed cabbage. Or- Bag of coleslaw mix, sauteed…

Oh, and it must be frothed! Just adding a tbsp of butter is NASTY!
-
It has to be butter from grass fed cows and coconut oil that's super duper $$$ with higher levels of certain fatty chain acids. If you care enough to Google there are detailed explanations online. It is absolutely delicious! Not part of my plan, but hubby loved it. It's really, really delicious, creamy and lush kind of…

I was thinking in that same vein with that commercial. Why are we teaching kids chocolate will soothe out the bumps in life?
-
While I don't subscribe to that method, my hubby lost 50 lbs in 4 mos doing keto and having bulletproof coffee every morning. It actually is quite delicious and it kept him satiated for hours. Must froth with immersion blender, can't just stir in some butter.

So do you guys eat under MFPs recommended calories? I was sent some messages that I should follow MFPs recommended calories. I haven't been. I should be cutting calories?

I've started weighing and logging in grams, nutmegoreo explained where is db to find those entries. Since doing so, I saw I was actually shorting myself on yogurt and protein powder. I'm pretty exact on measuring oils and fats. I don't like the idea of low fat and low carb. Trainer's are a husband and wife team that own a…

Did just go over food journals with trainer (not an RD) she wants me to eat 1600 cals, high protein and low fat/carb. She also told me to get my thyroid and hormones checked, as she thinks I should have lost a lot more based off what I've been doing.

Based of my weight of 304, at 1600 calories a day I should be dropping weight pretty easily. I'm also doing 4x weekly 60 min HIIT bootcamps. I was directed to many posts and articles in which cutting too low was ill advised. You recommend increasing my deficit?
-
Yup, here.

The issue I'm dealing with is that I am weighing, measuring and tracking everything and my loss is very, very slow. Yesterday I was given lots of advice to up my calories, info provided suggested to up my calories using a TDEE calculator. I'm more confused now!

If this was months into my weight loss or I only had a small amount to lose, that makes sense, but I'm 3.5 weeks in with 150 pounds to lose. With this much weight to lose, pounds shouldn't be such a struggle to come off at this stage. Sorry, but 7 lbs on a 300+ frame definitely isn't noticeable via tape measure or pictures.
