  • I have a rose on my upper left arm which I got at 18 years old. When I was 20 I got a flower and a unicorn. The flower faded so much that I got it covered up this year with an OM and a Lotus flower :) and I had the unicorn re-done at the same time. I couldn't decide between an ankle tattoo or a foot tattoo last year so I…
  • I love Geordie the most. Followed by Irish (not northern irish though). I don't like Brummie (sorry guys).
  • I have to say that me, myself and I are the three best training partners I ever had. They very rarely let me down. Sometimes I pay a P.T. to help me out, and I like to attend gym classes but as far as friends go - they just don't have the commitment to fitness/goals that I have, and relying on them would mean that I don't…
  • Hi all I do power (vinyasa) yoga about twice a week (minimum once) plus bodybalance once a week. I don't do much yoga at home because I am busy with work and study and still manage to get to other classes at the gym, and have taken up running. Yoga is still my favourite though, it makes me smile inside and out …
  • I like Aldi Moser Roth dark choc - there are two, 70% and 85% (which is very bitter but much less sugar). I also like Aldi's Choceur which is fairtrade, and 70% but it comes in big bars and I eat too much in one go lol
  • I hope you can do this. I hope that yoga leads you to acceptance. :flowerforyou:
  • I would love to get involved more with the spiritual side of yoga - but there isn't much in the way of hatha yoga around me in the evenings - they tend to be daytime based. So that will have to be a long term goal. I want to perfect my virahhadrasana - its is something I find tricky, even though it is a basic pose.
  • Perfect. And don't do something else instead, do it as well if you like. I do. I do yoga x 2, bodybalance (similar to yoga) x 1, aquafit x 1 and bodypump or kettlebells x1 or 2 - good all round workouts :)
  • sorry I missed this post , hope your photo did ok
  • You could get rid of 140 lbs plus in an instant! PS I am married and I have 3 kids nearly grown up, and I have a full-time job.
  • You'll learn soon. There are some complete idiots on here! Be selective over your friends :)
  • I have exactly the same, think its a pulled muscle. Only just returned to running. On previous attempts I have ended up with shin splints, pulled calves and pulled hip flexors! My technique is obviously rubbish! I am hoping to attend a clinic/workshop for beginner runners. Until then, I just continue with yoga - as it…
  • my gym gives awards. There is a 'class member of the year' award. Last year people were nominated, AND a winner who only attend 3 x RPM (spin) classes a week! I attend 5-7 classes a week, a mixture of yoga, bodybalance, bodypump, kettlebells, aquafit and RPM occasionally - and get overlooked year in year out. Does my head…
  • Add me as a friend if you like and take a look at my diary (its public for friends) and get some ideas about healthy tasty food you can eat and how many calories it all is x I don't deny anything, food is not an enemy. I eat out (carefully), I allow chocolate etc. Mainly I eat clean, healthy home prepared food and feel…
  • I like the look, but I can't fit it in. I tend to exercise 4-5 days a week. I don't mind an extra challenge I can do at home but I can't commit to getting out for 30 mins/5k per day. x Good luck
  • walking if it doesn't hurt your knees. Otherwise swimming, walking in the water, leading to water aerobics classes eventually. Where I live you can get a personal trainer who works in the water for people with mobility/joint problems. Think positive - you are trying to do something - well done :)
  • I find this too. I have swapped eating unhealthy biscuits and sweets for eating grapes, blueberries, satsumas, apples and bananas. The sugar on these is way high! But surely, I feel healthier and better and I have lost weight (my intention). Now I am on maintenance and I have just increased my overall food intake - still…
  • I take it with a little milk. But I only drink about 2 per day, the rest of the time I drink herbal/fruit teas - twinings apple crunch and blueberry & apple are lovely.
  • I guess it depends on your location. If you live in London you need to earn a LOT more than you do in North Yorkshire to achieve the same standard of living. You could live on 20-25k comfortably here on the Yorkshire coast but you would not be able to buy a property with that income. You need an income of 30k+ to buy a…
  • That sounds great, although I have never heard of it. Unfortunately I don't have the space at home or time to commit to a program. I do a couple of classes a week and a little teensy bit at home. Good luck with it and enjoy. Namaste x
  • I don't think it would go down well in my yoga class! I don't do yoga at home very often but if I did I would probably stick to yoga and go get my booty shaking at some zumba classes or go for a run. For me yoga has to be yoga. Although I don't mind bodybalance which is pilates and t'ai chi fused with mainly yoga. But…
  • If you see him in the gym ask him directly! Put him on the spot. Then say to him, that you will have to ask someone else if he can't help in the next x number of days. I would do that! There are several at my gym. One I would NEVER use, others are ok and 2 FAB ones. I use one of the fab ones obviously, and if he is not…
  • My son is a competitive swimmer. He has the six-pack and mahoooosive shoulders. He is not that tall at 5 ft 8 in compared to other 15/16 year olds, in fact he is similar to many 13/14 year olds, So his height is a disadvantage when swimming back or front crawl. His shoulders are perfect for butterfly though and that is his…
  • Depending on the type of yoga you will burn more calories than doing nothing in it's place, sometimes just a few more, sometimes a lot more. Yoga makes you feel strong, centred, calm and it will build proper core and muscle strength and make you leaner! It won't fast-burn calories. If done properly, with a good instructor,…
  • I think I am dedicated. Others might think I am obsessed. Going to classes I enjoy at the gym, is my hobby. It has been my hobby for over 10 years, so it is part of my lifestyle! I love to talk about it with anyone who will listen. I also love to talk food with anyone who will listen. After all my food change is a…
  • I CAN make time to cook and prepare healthy food and it is NOT more expensive, just a bit more planning.
  • I was a biscuit-aholic especially a chocolate bisuit-aholic. When I decided to embark on my weight-loss journey I made the decision to go to healthy eating for life - as I have heard so much about how bad diets are. So I dropped biscuits immediately and started snacking on healthy food. Surprisingly it was not so painful.…
  • Perhaps there isn't one that tastes good. Or even that tastes OK.
  • Wanted them since 16, got one at 18, then 2 at age 20. Spent 20 years wanting more but unable to justify the cost, due to having kids and other priorities. Last year, got a bit of money given so had my anklet done, then an OM ॐ over the top of one of my originals.
