I see now where you're coming from. Another pasta fusilli packet from ALDI - states that 75g of uncooked pasta is around 269 calories - this really equates to around 180g of cooked pasta, right? dont' get me started on quinoa, or rice haha.
-
hi how did you calculate 100grams of cooked pasta from the morrisons packet?
-
How can there be such stark differences between these two products? for some reason i'm still suspicious about Asda's fusilli pasta (100g can only contain 156 calories? even i don't believe it, yet it states on the packet
-
Yeah that's the method that i have been using. However i've done a bit of research and there's a big difference between Asda pasta fusilli and morrisons pasta fusilli 500g. Look here; So one packet of 500g of fusilli pasta states; ASDA - http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml#/product/37484 (156calories…

So one packet of 500g of fusilli pasta states; (as directly cooked)(on hob) 100g per serving gives around 156 calories Another packet of fusili pasta 500g states; as sold per 75g gives around 270calories Why is this the case? Obviously the second case refers to dry pasta. so when i log pasta into my diary do i log it as…

here is a link to the pasta fusilli packet that i've been speaking about http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml#/product/37484

i have had a look at the website link you provided me, and even on there it states that 100g of cooked pasta is 126calories, while 100g of dry pasta equates to 357calories. why am i still confused??
-
what i mean by 100g is that i estimate and guess around 100g of dry pasta before cooking it.
-
thanks for your answer. i've been logging with this 'viewpoint' for weeks now, but what's made me question it is looking at different brands of pasta which states values such as 357 calories per 100g.

the pasta bag is a 500g bag, and recommends 100g per serving! There are cooking instructions displayed on the back - cook pasta on the hob for around 10-12mins. the values that are displayed on the bag states "cooked as directed" - this led me to believe that the value displayed is for cooked pasta. im so confused, and its…

thank you for that :) I did calculate that my TDEE - 20% is around 2,000 a day, so in essence then if i stick to my TDEE calorie intake of 2,000 then i don't eat the calories i burn back (350 cal per session), but if i follow the BMR my intake should be around 1,800 and i do eat the (350 calories of cardio sessions back…

Your worst enemy is yourself, and trying to change this is not easy, especially when you suffer from depression. I realized that in order to get better i needed to change how i though, my outlook on life, my diet, my exercise level etc. The first thing i did was ask my doctor to refer me to a psychologist, and i've been…

ok thank you for clarifying that for me - i'm just trying to fully understand the maths behind this. i'm new to this, and although i' have lost weight in the past by doing cardio and eating healthy, i'm more exited about losing weight than i was before. thank you again :)
-
i tried deleting the other thread :/ sorry my apologise im rather confused; My TDEE is 2,512 daily - based on my exercise level to be 3 times a week. I m attempting to cut that by 20% which gives me a daily calorie intake of 2,000. However, i find that i'm eating around 1,800 - so i need to increase this by 200. however,…

itsbasschick - i haven't got a clue what my daily calorie intake was before. i've just began eating healthy and i knew i consumed so much junk food prior to this.
-
thanks for both of your replies - i dont mean to sounds stupid, but i can understand what your trying to explain
-
I weight about 175 pounds, i realize that i am not overweight by any means, i just would like to cut stomach and chest fat.
-
Imy aim is to lose a bit of weight - mainly stomach and chest area, other than that i'm relatively thin. I do run 3.5 miles 6 times per week. I'm not sure how much weight i want to lose, but my aim for now is to cut, then gradually start bulking at the gym in a few months time. However i am really struggling with the food…

thanks for you answers guys, i'm not sure how much weight i'm trying to lose specifically, it's just that my chest and belly area is making me uncomfortable and lack confidence because of it, the result of 2/3 years off eating junk food whilst at university. I'm trying to eat 3 meals, and snacks in between meals. I'm…
