Thank you for your honest replies. I dont take well to negativity, especially when im being absolutely serious. I am glad I am not the only one experiencing this. It is similar to the glycogen you lose when you eat low carb for example, but in reverse. Instead of losing glycogen, you gain it and water in your muscles. I…

So unless you are a doctor, a sports medicine specialist ,a kinesiologist please spare me your negative commentary. I need real responses from real people who had this issue.
-
Why are the majority of the responses so turse? I asked an honest question and in no way did i imagine id gained 5 lbs of muscle.

My goal is to lean out and shape my body. Ive lost 135 lbs already so now im trying to tighten up.
-
Yeah like i said i have to refine my food and log religiously. I just generally wanted to know if this is common. And yes i know i didnt gain 5 lbs of muscle, hence my inqury...

Running! Incline walking on treadmill, upping the incline every few mins.
-
You need to slow your pace down and take walking breaks. Slowly but surely your speed will increase naturally and you will need less breaks.

I am relatively new to my lifestyle change and I had a "cheat" day, due to my family having a pizza/beer night. I instantly regretted it, my stomach is not happy and I will not be partaking in cheat meals anymore. MY family and friends make comments that I'm starving (which im not) or that I cant avoid good food forever…

I have a Fitbit Charge HR and a polar FT4, both are great. Both have their pros and cons, but I find them reliable and they keep me accountable.
-
possible, yes. Sustainable? probably not
-
thank you guys! im going to focus more on those two! Really appreciate all your help

My macros are normally high protein high fat low carbs. no sugars so I guess now its more resistance training.
-
If it's higher than what you're allotted on MFP then I would attribute it to food that's lacking proper nutrients.
-
I've just started low carb this past Monday and noticed quite a significant difference. I don't feed bloated, I eat more yummy healthy fats and I stay within my calories. I just feel more satisfied with food now and I generally eat less than 150 grams of carbs per day. I only eat more than 150 grams on days that I run 5k.

I'm starting C25k, I have run multiple times and still have some difficulty. I have my first 5k on December 6th, luckily it is very casual and not times. After that I have 2 5k's in June to celebrate my 30th birthday. I'm an extremely slow runner but I'm hopeful and setting small goals to start.
-
I am following my MFP calorie deficit along with walk/running. Thanks for your feedback guys! I'm gonna stick with my habits and be patient :)
-
I signed up for two 5k races in June and started c25k. 130 lbs ago I would have never imagined running as an option
-
Are there any foods you guys would recommend before a run?
-
I run maybe twice a week I think it may not be consistent enough and that my body just may not be used to running yet. I am about 25 lbs overweight so maybe that is playing a role in it as well.
-
Having to take "breaks" during my runs less and less
-
nobody tells you about having a pannus and what the surgery is all about. Nobody tells you about how people instantly become friendlier towards you and actually start "seeing you" and "looking at you" as opposed to completely ignoring you when you're overweight.
-
Plus exercise sculpts your body and makes it stronger
-
My GP always preaches 80% diet, 20% exercise. Diet creates a deficit of calories and exercise increases it. You must have a clean, structured diet to succeed in weight loss.
-
what do you guys find is the best method of eating when on a running routine. They say abs are made in the kitchen and I find my diet is the missing link for me (not in diary, I haven't logged consistently in awhile).
-
:)
-
I was just thrown off by how many articles there are saying how running is bad for weight loss.
-
Thank you everyone. I am gonna safely pinpoint it to diet then. I also want to implement interval running with short sprints and more uphill. Really appreciate the feedback! Been struggling to lose the last 30 of 130 lbs lost so far. Safe to say I have plateaued. I do have a heart rate monitor and I do sometimes treadmill…

13? Food addiction, bullying, low self esteem. Weight didn't get high until early 20's, hit 330lb and at 25 started losing weight. Down to 204 lbs at 6 feet tall, would like to get down 25-30 more.

Polar FT7 amazing

Oh and last question. I slipped my shoulder a couple years ago so cannot do barbell squat, any similar moves you'd recommend?
