My diary is open, but it is only fair to warn you that I am just embarking on how to learn to eat truly "clean"
-
Very insightful thread with lots of great info. I am brand new to the "clean eating" way of life. I have spent most of my many attempts trying different diets, including the super low cal (under 1000 per day), low fat, low carb, etc. Of course nothing has truly worked and I am now believing it is because I always kept…

Welcome! It is a bit daunting to get started, but once you do it is much easier. My experience so far on MFP has been pretty good. Lots of nice people that are supportive. Feel free to add me.

You look great! Fantastic one year results!!

4' 11.5" and currently 189 - wanting to get super healthy and fit and hopefully losing about 60lbs along the way.

I just started the Whole30 myself and I haven't found many others that are familiar with this. I just started on June 1 and am following it pretty closely with a few minor exceptions to see how that goes and if it goes well then I am going to do a strict 30.

I am contemplating it. I hadn't even heard of it until recently so I starting looking into it. I would be interested to hear from others that have done it or are doing it.

the other thing about my spirooli that I love is from the time I start making the noodles to dinner on my plate...7 min or less. You can't beat that.
-
I have a spirooli and love it. I make sautéed zucchini noodles all the time. A bit of olive oil, minced garlic, fresh pepper and salt, some diced tomatoes and top it with some shaved parmesan. Super delish and low cal.

I was looking around today for some motivation and inspiration. Then, I came across your post and found what I needed. Thanks!!

My diary is open as well, although I am pretty new myself and it has taken a bit of playing around with calories/macros to get what I think is the right combo for me. I tend to eat mostly gluten free and high protein. I don't watch my fat too much. A great snack for me was to get a Rotisserie chicken at the market deli and…

I recognized this as yours immediately and I thought, "Oh Snap! Won't they be shocked when they realize this awesome post with awesome advice originally came from the "perceived" snarky guy under 50" - Personally, of all the advice I have read, I try to follow yours the most because A. It's accurate B. It is what works C.…

Jillian Michaels has several videos that have weights like the ones you have. Most of these are offered even through your library (at least mine has them). The one she has that is specifically for weight lifting is called "Shred It With Weights". All of hers use them, but this video is more focused on them than the others.…

You look so happy too!

Fantastic transformation! Best of luck on the next phase of your journey.

I unfriended someone because all their photos were very clearly trying to get attention and were sexual in nature. This isn't the place for that and I am here to be serious about my weight loss and journey back to good health. I decided that wasn't the kind of person I needed in my circle on this journey so I removed them.
-
I never thought about doing that, but I think it's a great idea, especially for salad dressing and such. I am definitely going to try this out.

It really is inspiring. if you want to know more you can visit the website www.miles2give.org My friend is the Tour Chef and one of the runners. I think it is ironic or fate that their running tour starts in April and will finish in November. Exactly when this post is making their Jar of Emotions donations.
-
What a lovely idea! I like the idea of stones as well. I think I will get two small jars, one for home and one for the office. Then on Nov 22nd, I can add them together for one charity or give each one to a different charity. My charity (ies) : PAWS Rescue Group M2G team (Miles 2 Give) - charity that supports Sarcoma…

That was one of the best and most helpful posts I have read, Thank You! PS - I am totally bummed you aren't accepting any new friends. :-(

I am starting to pre-log now because I am finding that it helps me stay on track and it also helps me see when I put together a day's worth of food, but I put them together in such a way that it spikes my sugar, or doesn't give me enough protein or is too many carbs. This way, I can make adjustments for those things and do…

yes it will be! I am excited for what lies ahead. :-)

When I lose 50lbs. I want to go skydiving, then when I reach my final goal I want to go zip lining. I have always wanted to do rock climbing too. There are many other things that I haven't tried and then once I became overweight I told myself it was too late. So now my goal is to try all the physical things I never got…
