Thanks so much for your reply, I appreciate it :)

Hi Vismal...I'd first like to say that this thread is amazing! You have clearly done an incredible job at reaching and maintaining your goals...you're truly an inspiration. On top of that, you're giving such fantastic advice just to help others, and that should really be commended! I've recently returned to MFP after about…

Hey Ladies :) I'm 5'7, so a little taller than the OP CW-160 (ish) B- 36 W-30 H-44!! Can you say pear? :P I'm aiming for 135-140 lbs and to lose about 6 inches off my hips. I want my hourglass figure back!
-
Hey! Fellow pear :) I'm 37-30-44, 5'7. My start weight was 194ish and my current weight is 162, aiming first for 145 and then 135ish. I'm also curious about how people were successful! I do ballet which is really more strength training than cardio, hot yoga and cycle (when it isn't freezing cold!), but am interested in…

Good for you for getting into ballet as an adult! After a childhood full of dance, I got back to ballet classes a couple years ago (I'm 33)...I love it! I only go twice a week, but I really enjoy it. The hardest part has definitely been managing expectations on myself. I was so much thinner and stronger when I was doing it…

you all look so great! Definitely inspiring to me...I'm hoping to start lifting really soon :)
-
WOW! Amazing job! I'm getting into the lifting too, and threads like this one are so inspirational! Congrats :)
-
Wow! Congrats! You just did exactly what I'm attempting :) I'm also 5'8 and I'm trying to get from 190 (ish) to 135 (ish). I'm at 156 right now, so I'm getting there. It's great to see someone with the same stats, make it to their goal, so thanks for the motivation.!

bump! You women look great...fantastic inspiration! :)

Seriously? 'it's called whey'? That's pretty unhelpful and antogonistic, particilarly since I said I drink vegan protein powders (same protein count as whey but better for you) OR I eat greek yogurt for breakfast. Maybe you should read the post before you suggest the two specific foods I said I already eat every day for…

Hehe, awesome :)

I actually agree with this poster! I think that telling a vegetarian to eat meat, is the same as me posting that you shouldn't be religious, or that you shouldn't have children. Totally out of line. Other's moral choices are not yours to comment on. So thanks for pointing this out! That being said, the poster who…

Thanks! This seems to make more sense to me. I was wondering if someone mixed up the metric. I'm trying to build lean muscle and be fit, but not pack it on, and I'm not on an intensive lifting program (I mainly do ballet). I appreciate the link.

You're amazing! Best of all you make all my excuses look like exactly what they are...EXCUSES! Thank you for posting :)
-
Thanks so much for the reply :) People have been really supportive in my class, and it's great to hear that you've taken on dance class and also had a good experience! I think you're right about there being no better time than now, because I'm just going to feel more out of practice the longer I wait. Good advice too to…

bump...anyone? :)
-
Thanks so much for the reply!!! I know it really just comes down to doing it, but your motivation is really helpful :) My teacher is supportive, so he's certainly not the issue (although I'll certainly get a 'where the hell were YOU?' comment :P). I'm just really competitive with myself, and it's hard to deal with knowing…

Bump! I'm 5'7, and down from 190 ish to 150 ish. My goal weight is somewhere in the 130's. You can tell I'm not too hung up about the numbers! I just want to like how I look. You all look fabulous!
-
Wow, you look great! You've just done what I'm about to attempt! I'm 152 right now, 5'7, and I've been aiming first for 145 and then 135 (maybe...I'll see when I get down there. Can i add you?!
-
Wow! Congrats! You are at my goal weight...I have 15 lbs more to go, but it's been much harder than the first 40! You've done amazing, and I totally agree...Abs are made in the kitchen!!! Congrats again :)
-
That's great! That's my goal :) At a 10 now, and I can't wait for that moment where it just happens to be too big!!! Congrats to all your hard work!
-
My goal is around 135-140...It was in the 120's, but I'm starting to think that I'd miss my curves. I still want to look great in pin up clothes! Currently I'm right around 150.

Went shopping for a pair of cheap jeans at Forever 21 yesterday and they only had one pair left in the style I was looking for...in a 29. Since I haven't worn a jean size in the 20's since the end of high school, it seemed a long shot, but I trudged to the changeroom anyways. Well, they FIT!!! I'm quite sure it's vanity…

Count me in! I have somewhere around 15 lbs to lose in order to hit my original goal of 135. Odd thing is, I've found myself less motivated once I got to this spot...I'm actually trying to consider the idea that I like where I'm at. I want to keep some of my curves!! I'm thinking of revising to only 5-10 lbs more and…

Wow! That's great! And I LOVE that flowered dress, it looks awesome on you :)

Not sure why people are being antagonistic on this thread...the OP is just asking a question. Anyways, I have done some calorie cycling, although informally. Because I have a number of evenings in the week that I go out and socialize with friends, or need to work late and pick up food, I look at my calories consumed/burned…

Thanks for those links, they're really helpful! Wish me luck :)

Thanks guys! This is really going to help I think. I like the idea of 'tricking' my body. Dance is a lot like that as well, you're always doing something different, so I feel like I can keep going for ages. Running/swimming have seemed hard because you just keep doing the same thing. If I keep switching it up, then maybe…

I'm a smoker as well... not heavy anymore and I'm planning on quitting once I've reached my goal weight (this winter). I think what bothers me is how non-smokers (or worse, EX-smokers) decide that it's their job to remind you how terrible smoking is for you. As if we aren't aware, or are under some delusion that it's…
