  • Hi Mandabrett, I couldn't agree more. Get away from that trainer as soon as possible and try and get into a crossfit box. try and make sure that the coaches are teaching correct lifting techniques. I don't even bother recording my food most days any more, because on Paleo there is no way I will hit my calories required.…
  • How are people going? I am now on day 27 and am 7.9kgs down. I am so happy with doing the Whole30. We plan on keeping going except 1 celebratory meal. My wife and I are also doing crossfit 3-4 days a week.
  • If you can afford it, the best Paleo book I have seen so far is Practical Paleo by Diane Sanfilippo. It is both a educational book, as well as a recipe book with 120 recipes and has specific meal plans for Weightloss, Celiacs, athletic performance etc.. It was around A$30/US
  • My wife and I have been doing the whole30 for 20 days now. I am 6.2kgs or 14 pounds lighter, and have tonnes of energy and my sense of smell has increased. I am looking forward to returning to Milk in coffee so I can resume having Latte's. But we plan going forward to do 100% Paleo 80% of the time... We realised that just…
  • Went for an hours walk in a nature reserve on New Years Day up and down hills and then today rode 7km each way to work (1hr 15 min round trip including a 4km up hill in each direction)
  • If you need to stretch your stomach a bit, try water... if you don't like the taste of just water try sqeezing in some fruit juice like lemon or orange. (just a little bit)
  • Canberra, Australia - Australia's Capital City.
  • Any exercise I do, I use a heart rate monitor as well. It is the only way to be sure of your calorie burn...
  • The best thing to do to get started is go see your local mountain bike shop. They will probably be able to give you advice on local trails and maybe ever help you hook up with a group of riders. Otherwise start wrangling friends and convince them that this mountain biking gig is worth a go... :) Cheers Ray
  • Hi Wayne, I would stick with the 26" as it is the "standard" bike size for wheels and tubes etc. They still then come in small, medium and large frames. Mountain Biking is an awesome fat burning exercise and great for cardio. you can also mix it up with your walking/running. With bikes when doing actual moutain biking, you…
  • I have an iphone. Love it because i also use the GPS tracking apps like RunKeeper and Cycle Metre and C25K apps. So it does my music and is my personal trainer... My parterner uses a water proof mp3 player that she bought on ebay and uses it in the pool when swimming laps!
  • The C25k program has been working for me and there are some great apps for it for the iPhone!
  • When I am doing a medium level of exercise my burn is between 600 - 700 Calories per hour. My resting heart rate is between 75 - 90. If you are lifting, running etc all day, it might be plausible. You body already should have a base metabolic rate of probably around 3000 - 4000 per day.
  • I bought one off ebay for about $15. It is great, I have big arms, so I wear it on my forearm. It seems to work better with the GPS apps for running/cyclying then and I can use the touch screen through th clear plastic front cover and it slightly weather proof.
  • I like to go half way. eat around 1500. Treat yourself with those extra calories...
  • On average I burn approximately 650 Calories per hour, but only do on average about 30 - 40 mins per day. I think it is more important how much, you are eating and drinking lots of water.
  • Welcome. Yeah I love my food too.. and also sitting on the couch. However I am breaking through those barriers! Good luck!
  • I have a single serve (1 Cup) of Nutragrain (.25 of a cup of 2% milk) and a 8 Oz Cup Latte made on 2% milk with 1.5 sugars. Under 300 Calories. for you... 1 slice of bread is about 55 Calories. plus however many eggs you use... probably not bad at all..
  • I agree with this statement. If I give my self a chance I will maybe pike. You just have to suck it up and do it... or stay fat. your choice really. I am also at the point that when I don't exercise I feel guilty. Also think for a second. Is it my body telling me I am injured/slightly damaged and need a rest day to repair…
  • Absolutely. If you are going to be doing exercise for some time into the future, get yourself a heart rate monitor. Best investment I have ever done for my health. So much so that I just bought one for my fiance who is also trying to exercise and lose weight. They accurately give you calories for anything you do. Sometimes…
  • I think you look amazing.
  • I wish I could run for 3 minutes straight. Well done. Work hard and you will become the person you want to be. This is about lifestyle change, not just weight loss. You are making great steps towards a wonderful goal of transformation.
  • Perhaps call it "Thai Satay Chicken and Veggie noodles". Looks awesome.
  • I try to find something to entertain me. Or get a lollie that I can suck on or something...
  • It's not going to make you thin.... Milk is full of fat that is why dairy products are all about moderation. Go easy on Milk, Cheese, Butter, Cream, Icecream, yogurt.
  • Hi Becks, I own a Polar FT7, though I think you would be fine with the FT4. On ebay they are quite cheap for what you get. Cheers
  • This is why the military have marching/jogging songs (cadence). actually for 2 reasons. It keeps people for the most part in step and also to help control breathing etc. Also takes your mind off the fact that you are jogging.
  • Hi and Welcome! 2 things. 1) Be careful with the exercise calories in MFP. Sometimes they are way out. Best option is investing in a heart rate monitor. It gives accurate calories based on your age, gender, weight and your heart rate. 2) Because you are exercising you will be building some muscle, this weighs more than…
  • For your Wii games, try eBay. Often cheaper than retail.
  • I think you will find you also get a great workout from the Boxing game from the basic Wii Sports...
