We have the same issue on both of our phones. That and exercise randomly updates in MFP with no rhyme or reason. Not sure why we're paying for premuim. It should be faster with no ads. Seems like the last releases get worse.

That is an excellent analogy. I'm going to save that answer. Thanks.

I forgot to get my bike shoes out and throw them in the pile. We stay active. When we're not out playing we do a mix of HIIT and weights and throw a little stretching in... I've got several other pairs of sneakers that I just wear everyday. I have a fetish for sneakers apparently.... Lol... My gal makes fun of me but she…

I've done P90, P90 Master Series, P90X 1-2-3. I still like the original P90X too! If you don't like X3 don't even look at X2. I did X2 once and swore I'd never do it again. He surprised me with that one. It has a bunch of exercises that are what I call "circus stunts". You're really being setup to hurt yourself. A few of…

I'm 60 and do Insanity and Asylum right now for HIIT. Those cycle your heart rate. I average about 135 and peak around 165. I can maintain 155 for some amount of time. I've done T25 and that is 25 minutes pretty much all out. He has small "slow periods" in it. My ave HR is high and my peaks are definitely high. I ride…

I mow the lawn every other week. I have hilly terrain and spend an hour. I use my HRM and it tells me about 600 cals/hour mowing. I log as exercise but don't eat all the calories back.

It depends on what you call "cardio". Just doing cardio in the sense fast movements that get you sweating. Say like spinning or jumping rope or running etc. Doing "cardio" when you do P90X, T25, Insanity etc.. There is a lot of body weight moves like pushups, pullups, burpees, squats and jumps and so on. While cardio they…

You go girl! My gal did exactly that!. It works. Why yes you can Stevie. My gal could do 0 pull-ups, a couple of chin-ups. Get an "assist" just for the pull-up bar. You adjust the bands to give you as much or little help getting up. It helps with the worst part getting from the bottom the of the move. She started with it.…

Cardio and calorie deficit for the fat. My gal "had" exactly what you describe and she's a hair shorter than you. She went from 145 to 115. Took several months, no crash diet stupidity. Life change in eating plan. She did almost all cardio. At least in the sense that she didn't lift weights per say. Body weight moves were…

I agree, mostly BS and marketing, a few good articles. I do get Men's Health. Don't pay news stand prices! I also agree on Starting Strength. That should be mandatory reading for weight lifting training. We just started getting TRAIN. It's cool in that it has Train Men then flip it over and Train Women. That's about where…

I'm on week 8 of Insanity. The good news is the last week's get harder. The time bumps up to an hour. The "max" drills are tough but fun. I've started on Insanity I and am mixing them now to try a hybrid. It's not bad but kind of crazy. So the names are fitting... We've done hip hop abs together. She did T25 with me for…

If you have cable check out the On Demand channels. They have a fitness channel with some good routines and stretching etc..

Couple of suggestions. 1. Watch the videos, not on your workout time. Just sit down and fast forward to skip along and see each exercise. Pause and watch the ones you have never seen before or done. 2. Don't worry about going as fast as them. Form is everything. Speed comes later. 3. There will be some exercise that you…

I had IT band issues from lower spine and hip issue. Causing problems with sciatic nerve. PT and massage helped. I tried a foam roller. It does help a lot and doesn't cost what a PT will cost you. I would warn you though that the foam roller will be painful.

That was a big problem when CF first started. Too many people who are clueless opened CF gyms. Doing wild exercises with no form. People got hurt. Even today there are a number of CF workouts that have some questionable moves in them. Find a very reputable gym that does CF. Give it a try. I used CF type workouts outdoors…

LOL! Ding, ding, ding... and you win the Jeopardy question of the day. Killing yourself dieting and exercising won't make this the way you want. And that's not only the ladies. Guys have shapes and sizes they would like to be. And genetics says not for you dude. Maybe in your next life... Make the best of what you have as…

Do Add Exercise. In the search box. Put PIYO. If nothing comes up then do Create Exercise. You need a HRM to capture workout time and calories burned by you, not someone else. I've searched before and found some of the workouts I do. Their numbers are off and I don't use them. I input mine. Assuming the numbers it gives…

I chose MFP over doing TDEE. When I looked it up there were 3 formulas that are all accepted for calculating TDEE. And the output is significantly different. Since it takes into consideration all your exercise for the week and divides it up. It assumes you can eat TDEE everyday and it will balance out. That worries me as…

Thanks guys. Agreed on realistic expectations. I've been working out seriously now for about 6 years and taking diet serious for about 3. BF% is pretty good at 17%. Trying to get below 15% would be painful and it makes me look like I'm sick... Some of the workarounds suggested to replace big deadlifts and squats is good. I…

Looking to recomp. I've read a bunch of this but not all 1,000 responses ;-) Age: 60, Ht: 6.0, Wt: 161, BF% 17. Workout ~5 days/week./ Mostly HIIT (T25, P90X). Started adding in weights 3x/week and removing some cardio. My goal is same weight. A bit more muscle. Remove some belly fat leftover that refuses to die! Pretty…

Herniated discs are getting pushed out of where they belong. This is from age, wear and tear, hereditary. When the disc dries out from poor hydration it shrinks. That reduces the spacing of the "cushion" between your discs. Either one causes issues under compression. Your spine is always under compression. Sitting all day…

We bought 2 books that we used to start weight training. Starting Strength and Strong Curves. Bodybuilding . com has lots of workouts and videos to show you proper form. We bought adjustable dumb bells to get started.

My bad on the TDEE and exercise part. I messed that up. See, easy to do when you don't do this everyday for a living ;-) I have BMR and TDEE calculated from using IIFYM. I forgot that workouts do count to TDEE. I've gotten lazy because we just use MFP to do it. So she sees she has calories left over each day and is happy.…

I use one with the assisted band setup. You adjust the length and it has 3 bands. So you can work with the length then subtract bands to slowly adjust resistance. My door bar says 300lbs max. I think that is just the bar, not necessarily whether your doorway can deal with it.

I think the original post was mis-interpreted by some as meaning meeting TDEE AND working out does not reduce fat. I read it as you eat to TDEE, your are dead even, and in maintenance. You exercise and now you are in deficit. So you lose weight. The basic statement that "cardio doesn't burn fat" just freaks people out. The…

If you have any spinal issues then getting up and moving just a bit every hour or so is good. It helps to decompress your spine and move muscles. Many who sit all day have lower back issues. I tried the stand up workstation and hated it. My gal uses one and like it a lot. To each his/her own. I've also used a large balance…

This is the best answer I've read on here about "cheats". I'm dumping that word and using this going forward. Most days I'm under. My goal is maintain. So I chose to go over one day. So what. The world doesn't end. I'm not doing twice the workout tomorrow to make up for it. I eat well and exercise regularly. Some days I…

Abs can be overworked. I've tried P90X, X2, X3 and I like the X3 ab workout. Challenging and done 3x week is enough. Remember that most cardio and weight lifting involves your core. So you are working your abs a lot in general.

This is what I like to do. It stretches me from head to toe. Takes 15 minutes tops. • Sun Salutations • World’s Greatest Stretch • Side Stretches • Cat / Cow • Superman Stretch • Scorpion • Figure 4 Stretch • Piraformis
